I am just wondering how long my ban is going to last. I have two or three rounds today that show 0 kills and I realize that probably doesnt look great for me. I get a phone call and have to walk away a few kills in and my roommate keeps
Playing and we get console and account banned? I’m fine with the idea that there may be a temporary ban. Still don’t think my situation warrants it, but I want to know how long and the reason why. I really would think this does not qualify for a ban in my opinion. But that’s just me. I would just like some clarification.

1st time bans normally last 24-48 hrs.
I’m unsure of what you are looking for clarification on? You seem to have a firm handle on how the ban system is working with AFK.

Hello all, I am new here but not new to halo reach. I have been recently banned from earning credits on my home console and I was hoping to find out here. The only other time I have been banned was for quitting because I share an xbox with my brother, who has his own live account and plays on it not on mine, who quit several games because his friends all quit. I somehow got stuck with that ban but it was only 10 minutes and sometime a few months ago.
Anyways for the reason I’m here: A friend of mine is house-sitting for someone and has to stay there all week by himself and he wanted me to come over and chill, help him out with the animals and whatnot. I downloaded my profile to his xbox and started playing reach split screen with him. We played all sorts of games and both made an insane amount of credits because someone told us to play grifball and we made about 7000 to 10,000cr per match. We didn’t boost, the games were evenly matched and about half the time they were the ones who tried to spawn camp us without trying to score. We didn’t just play grifball though, just played it for about 5-6 hours. We also played slayer, swat, campaign, firefight, etc… When I got back home and tried to sign into live: I was told I was signed into another console, which was normal. I started playing reach and was then notified that my console has been “temporarily banned from earning credits”. The only reason I can think of is that maybe I hit the cap at my friend’s house and now I’m banned, but why my whole console? My brother played over the weekend too and was having connection problems so mostly played campaign and custom games with his friends. He didn’t lag out of any matchmaking games, he just did horribly because of lag. He says he didn’t quit any either.
Long story short: I went to my friend’s house, imported my account and played split-screen matchmaking with him. We were told by some people to play grifball to rank up quickly and did NOT boost. I earned a total of about 150k credits at minimum over the weekend. When I come home and sign into live with no problems- I go into reach and am informed my console has been credit banned. Can someone please tell me
1- why my console has been banned and not me from earning credits if I hit a limit (some of my friends over xbox live have told me I might have hit a limit for earning credits)
2- How long this might last
3- How to avoid this from happening again
and
4- Why do they ban consoles not accounts. My brother has gotten me banned before because he quit on HIS account. That wasn’t fair and it’s not fair that he cannot earn credits because of me hitting the limit.

EDIT: My brother said he got into a match where everyone, including him boosted in grifball. His Gamertag is Viroh RG for reference. I just wanna know why the hell my console is banned not his xbox live account >:(

TJ, if it is your 2nd ban it will be for 48 hours…at most 2 weeks.
Hey community my gamertag is frostedDrizzle now i got a problem i was banned on my consle and account saying temp u can not ur credits i dont understand this i didnt do nothing wrong so if what u say is true about the community helping then look at my game history. I just had surgery two weeks ago and have been put off work till i heal now im a big halo player as u can see from my career history now all i been doing these past weeks is playing halo i cant go no where and do min things i played halo all day just bout 4 or 5 this morning so im sure i might of hit th credit limit but i did not deserve to get banned for it. Its not fair to players that play ligit are suffering from people who want to glitch and boost there rank. I play cause i love the game and like to get rewarded for it so please people try to help me get unbanned i dont deserve it and the people that this has happen to dont deserve it. Also 343 its my Birthday and all i was going to do was play HALO and now i cant so great B-Day present for a loyal Fan/Player

I just bought an xbox360 from my friend and apparently his xbox was banned from earning credits awhile ago, he told me to come here and that I might have a chance at having it reversed, and I hope it gets reversed because since I wasted all my money on this xbox, I only have one game, which in this case my only game is halo reach.
Can someone please help me i got credit banned yesterday my Gt is boogyman2003 i was playing with a guest and a very good friend of mine and my gt and console got credit banned i was just wandering if someone could take a look at this and tell me what i did wrong and how long this is gonna last becouse i really like playing reach and i dont wanna stop playing it i just wanna know what i did wrong so i dont do it again

So I’m not a genius, but I’ll give a thought that has nothing to do with my feelings on the ban system 
You may be lagging and not know it. If you are playing and suddenly it seems that everyone else has dropped out, and then the game ends…you’re lagging. How about during map selection, do you see “failure to load” regularly? Because that could also be a problem. I had this prob once, and as it turned out I had a crack in my disc. Those times when I was just seeing “failure to load” etc, it was counting against me as quitting because everyone else was able to load and commence game. So I bought a new disc and downloaded it to my hard drive (duh, right). No more troubles.
So, it may not be what you want to hear, or a super educated solution, but something to think about

This is the only part that matters, your brother had a guest account logged in getting 0 kills, probably for boosting, for over 3 games. The last 3 games were all that needed to be looked at. They ban the console so you can’t have 2 GTs and jump to a different one because you got the one banned. It is unfair, but your only option is to tell your brother he can’t use your xbox. If it is the first time you have been credit banned 24-48 hrs is the normal ban time.

Did you try playing? Credit bans are temporary. So if it was a while ago it should be gone. If he got his console permanantly banned…I don’t know if 343 would remove that. *Say I get a permanant credit ban. And then I turn around a mont later and call 343 and say I just bought this xbox from my friend, it has a perma ban can you remove it. Bam, I just got unbanned even though I shouldn’t have been.

You had 6+ o kill games, 5 of those were in a row. You got banned for being AFK. you had a game where you went +12 then negative for 5 then +6. So next time you have to do something,back out to the main lobby. Being idle in games will get you banned.

You were banned for having your guest account getting 0 kills. Your GT got flagged for AFK activity. The system only tracks 0 kill games. First time bans normally last 24-48 hrs.
I was just banned for absolutely no reason!!! just casually playing the game with my friends and BAM!!! My console is now banned from earning credits. Please Please Please fix this for me!!!

Just some credit banning questions here.
I have recently been Temporarily credit banned. I think it’s the first time i have ever been banned in any Halo game, but i may have had a short ban on my orignal xbox for de-ranking on a secondary account in Halo 2, but i don’t think that would affect my main account on an xbox 360.
Regardless, here’s the breakdown:
On 6/23/12 and 6/30/12, me and 1 or 2 other friend’s were attempting to collect the last few remaining achievments in Halo:Reach, and we read online that boosting for some of them is best to do. So we got some controllers and played 8 games on 6/23/12 from 9:28am-10:25am ( Roughly an hour ), and 10 games on 6/30/12 from 10:16am-11:44am ( Roughly an hour and a half ).
My K/D was 125/10 and i think we only quit out of maybe 3-4 games total. Attempting to get some of the harder achievments on the correct map and gametype can be seriosuly tedious. I have since been credit banned and i just want to know how long it will last?
I accept a temporary credit ban for boosting achievments, but I was not boosting credit’s at all. I read online it could be anywhere from 24hours-2weeks, but i found this thead and it looks like i might be able to have a credit ban sentence reduced, so i figured i’d give it a shot.
I realize many people do what i did to collect lots of kills and complete challenges/commendations, but i assure you any kills i collected were purely for attempting to get achievments and the random slaughter fun of a few freind’s guests.
I managed to get all but 1 achievment that i needed, but i still have the hardest one left lol. I definitely will not attempt this boosting method again for the last achievment, but i would like to have my sentence reduced or ended if possible.
It has been over 48 hours since my ban and i really hope i did not get a first time, or somehow partial 2nd ban of a possible 2 weeks for purely attempting to collect some devious achievments. ( No one ever picks rocket race or 1 flag on Condemned! )
Anyway, thanks for reading. I hope i get my credit gaining ability back soon!

Hi there, My partner and i have been playing Halo Reach. Our gamer tags are hornyfishiee and PETER JAMES 88 … It says that our xbox 360 and our accounts have a credit suspension on them… why is this? what can i do, i don’t think we have done anything wrong… ??? Will i get my credits reinstated that i have earned today by doing the challenges? thanks! Please please please help or direct me to the right place!
Its a temp, no worries =) Dont leave your controller unattended and you wont have any problems in the future.
