I got a credit ban also for being afk. How long does the credit ban last exactly?
I am hoping my ban is over tomorrow morning - 24 hrs - I plan on playing some Halo for my birthday if 343i cooperates and stops being paranoid about being AFK.
So, I could just log in a second controller as a guest and play without this issue of being banned ever occurring again, right?
> hi i am wondering how long it will take for my credit ban to be over
First time bans tend to last 24-48 hours.
Any longer and expect a 1-2 week wait.

If the guest gets zero kills, you will be banned for AFKing activity.
I would like to know why my son’s account was banned from earning credits. (edog421.)
I’m currently banned for quitting out of late night games with some really crappy pairings. (Yes I am complaining about that) Anyways, while I wait for the ban period to go by my wife is being issued the same message and not being allowed to play because of quitting too many times…when she hasn’t played in the past 3 days (give or take). We share the console and both accounts are Gold by the same credit card. If you can fix this, I would for ever be in your debt because I can’t take the nagging anymore.

So, a guest who has no ability to advance in the game, who pays nothing to play Halo would get me banned if the stats were zero? Wow, seems ridiculous.
ok, then I will go the slow and safe route and just play firefight normal. It is NOT like the server will find anyone to pair with me, as it takes forever to find another player in firefight, and then I can choose what I want. Thanks, again.
Hello
Why do I get no answer?
If I announce a guest who is bad and gets no hits, am I closed?
Is this thus? Then I must say my friends: If you are bad, no Halo shops!!! Beginners may not play because they are closed then. Please, around answer
> Saturday a buddy of mine and his brother were playing reach on my cosole when suddenly the message appeared that his gamertag was banned from earning credits. Also my xbox 360 is banned earning credits, so I’m not able to earn some. I was wondering if there would be any chance to get the credit-ban away from my console because if not I wo’nt be able to earn credits. It wasn’t my fault at all.
> Looking forward to your answer.
There is no way for this to be overturned. You are responsible for what happens on your console. I looked at the history, there were a couple of games with 0 kills. But the big question I have, why go into a playlist like SWAT if your with a new player? It has nothing to do with being a “bad” player getting you banned. A simple way to avoid new players getting banned is to go into games that aren’t so difficult for new players.
Go into regular Team Slayer, or play firefight to get the friend accustomed to the controller, or play some custom games. But you are entering playlists that have no shields and 1 head shot kills you? What chance does a new player have in that game?

You bring up very good points that I have previously thought about, however 343i didn’t create the banhammer, or the paramiters it uses. They are simply doing the upkeep with the game. So it was Bungie that enacted this banning method, and they enacted it in the gametypes that it exists in.
But just so you know, I think you are right. An AFK guest doesn’t hurt anyones game in Firefight Doubles. They gain no credits, and you end up with close to the same amount of kills as if you would have played the game on single player Score Attack. So it shouldn’t matter. But like I said before, and Moa has said as well. With Halo4 on its way, 343 simply doesn’t have time, or want to spend the money, to bring in programmers to look at the coding and change things so the hammer works a little more forgivingly.

There is no way to differentiate a bad player from an AFKer.
However, a new player has few chances he has to be banished the chance of you???
Thus you sell no Halo to play. I have been surprised at this setting. Then, however, mine agrees xbox ban from you and I have no possibility to ask somebody why, I also do not understand. Is this the service of 343 / Bungie? is bungie also on gamescom in Germany? I would want a contact here in Germany.

It was a Bungie decision, the never caught AFKing being problem before Reach came out so they had to add it to the ban hammer late on, meaning it couldn’t have extensive work done on it, in the end they decided to only track zero kill games.
Bungie is not likely to be at Gamescon, they will have nothing to announce.
Again, going back to my previous post, my wife, NurseRachy1014, is receiving the time ban message as well, we want it stopped.
Hello
Nevertheless, one can see in the log which was it with me NO AFKler, but which was the guest in movement. It is a pity, the Bungie on the Gamescom is not present.

Are you playing with your wife at the time or not?
During the time we were, only quit twice, all the rest is during the night when it’s just me.
> During the time we were, only quit twice, all the rest is during the night when it’s just me.
Then the message will pop up because you were playing with her at the time.
It is intentional.
So let me get this straight, out of the let’s say, 15 quits in 2 days, she was in 2 of them, that qualifies her to be banned if she decides to quit one on her own?

Yes, two puts you on probation I believe.
