Why Did I Get Banned - The Official Thread

> Well at least you didnt get banned for playing with a friend who was your xbl guest who went three straight games with 0 kills - then got banned for 2 weeks COMPLETELY because it looked like I had an afk ghost guest…lol, still cant believe that happened to me

Yeah, but I got banned for what seems to me being no apparent reason, and even IF I actually AFKed I got banned for 2 weeks after 1 game.

I’m sorry for bringing this up again, but I downloaded the match I had on Erora and I didn’t AFK at all. Is there a way where you can see it for yourself just so I can justify that the automated banhammer is malfunctioning?

Plus, having a history of bans in the past makes you more of a target for future bans, just like a criminal record in real life.

It’s this way because people usually follow bad trends if they have a history of bad doings.

The ban hammer goes solely off zero kill games for AFKing activity, the game had a final result of you with zero kills and multiple deaths.

It is functioning as intended.

Oh wow, really? Okay then, that’s kind of unfair in my opinion but I guess I can’t do anything about it, thanks again.

i know i am baned because i was “afk”/hiding on a firefight map (idk i could get band from that but now i wont do that again).
but i was wondering when my ban will be removed.

Wait, so I am not going to be unbanned? You even saw yourself that I was actually playing, I just had a bad game!

Once again, the ban hammer goes of zero kill games, it triggers it for AFKing activity, which you had, bans aren’t overturned because there is no way to differentiate a boosters or an AFKer.

If they attempted to go through every ban appeal, they would be there for years.

Okay, but it isn’t fair for the people who just got zero kills and even have proof about it, so what I am saying is that 343 Industries does something about the AFKing ban system because it’s frustrating people who don’t deserve to get banned. I mean, why should it get triggered if someone got zero kills? What if they are just bad or had a bad game, they shouldn’t get labelled as AFKing.

It is either let people go all out & boost with guests & other accounts while they get zero kills, or ban a small amount of players for zero kills to prevent AFKing.

I prefer it now, less AFKing.

It is unlikely the problem will ever be sorted in Reach, not while Halo 4 is this close.

I am going to point out one more element of the game you are talking about:

All other players besides you and 1 other have a relative distance traveled. On top of 0 kills, you also have a relative distance traveled as 0 as well as 0 medals or anything to suggest you were in-game. The banhammer has made the correct judgment call.

How many matches of zero kills are required to get banned? And is this system going to be in Halo 4 as well?

It can be one, info on the Halo 4 ban hammer is unknown.

It should atleast be 2-3 matches in a row where you get zero kills that you get banned, because like my situation, 1 match is a bit overboard.

I mean, why should it get triggered if someone got zero kills? What if they are just bad or had a bad game, they shouldn’t get labelled as AFKing.

I know, I mean for Halo 4 at least.

What is AKFing?

AFK: Away from keyboard but for halo replace keyboard for controller.

I just bought an Xbox 360 last night and got the download with Halo Reach on it and now it says that we are banned to earn any credits why is this?
