My account and console where temp banned this weekend, as to why I’m not sure. I let my 8 year old nephew play halo for a bit and when I get back I notice I’m not receiving credits for playing. I can only assume that he did terrible and got no kills. if you can look into this I’m sure it will be plain to see I dont afk/boost and would appreciate if this can be corrected.
I was playing swat with my 7 yr old cousin on the 2nd controller and he wasn’t getting any kills. Now I’m banned. How long is it for? I’ve heard 24hrs-2 weeks. I think I can handle the 24 hrs, but 2 weeks seems excessive considering I didn’t do anything wrong. If it is 2 weeks, is there anyway to ask for a review of some sort?

Hi there, welcome to the forum, I posted in your thread over on Bungie, there’s a thread at the top of this page, try post there if you have not already done so,
Some of the members may have a look at your games and give an opinion, hopefully they can shed light on the ban length as well, but, I feel that will be varied,
Wow, as long as the game detects the controller is being used and someone’s trying to play that’s a bit harsh to get banned, even if your cousin didn’t get a single kill in 7 games straight.
Mind you, it’s a bit annoying for all the random teammates you matched up with in those games - they were effectively a man down. Perhaps play Firefight with your 7yr old cousin next time rather than a hardcore playlist like SWAT.
Hopefully the ban’s only 24hrs. They really should inform you on the message how long the ban is for - hopefully they fix this in an update.
it doesn’t matter if he gets kills or not. the ban hammer detects AFKing by movement. im pretty sure you were boosting. but if not the standard first offense is 24-48 hours. try not to let it happen again.

If you look at his Game History you’ll see he definitely didn’t boost…

The ban hammer can’t detect movement, for AFKing activity it goes solely off zero kill games.

This. There is no way around it. Next time, play customs with him. You can’t be banned for that.

That’s the problem, people have the misconception that Bungie/343i had the ability to track this with the ban hammer, they didn’t, they could have if they realised AFKing would have been a problem before Reach came out and developed it in time, but the tracking for AFKing was added later on in Reach’s lifecycle.
I got banned for playing fire fight and when I was playing I got the challenge! But when I kept on playing it kept giving me the challenge and I got banned what am I supposed to do?
