Ok my kid has been banned from earning credits for a week now and I have not heard any explanation of why and how long. This is his first ban and I think it is ridiculous that noone has bothered to let us know why or how long. Does anyone know how to contact them directly?

I assume your ‘kid’ plays on the profile you posted on. They will never tell you why or how long but judging by the profile he’s either quit of disconnected from to many games. He could have also tried to gain my credits by using a Challenge Reset exploit which is also a bannable offense for an extensive period of time. You should probably monitor your kids play then.

i know im way late on this but this thought just now occurred to me.
this was within eight months of halo reach bring released
my friend anthony had heard about the glitch on oni sword base and did it to make his commendations go higher. a day later, his rank was reset (as in he was demoted back to recruit), his armor completion was back at 0, he lot all of his credits, but he still had his commendation progress.
how did this happen?

This is the first time for me seeing or for that matter readin up on the temporary ban or banhammer that is in place for users abusing the system. I would like to know exactly I may have done to trigger this issue or infraction upon you. I did have a friend come over and play a few games online(Team Swat) with me. He being a novice at this had 2-3 games where he did not score any kills, but he was actively trying. At no time where we away from the keyboard or attempting to do harm. I have been online playing for over 5hours today and did have the occassional betrayal, but I was not booted from the games for it. The forums state that my account could be locked out for up to 2 weeks for this? Any information you can provide would be greatly apprecaited. Thanks.

im really even not sure what point you are trying to make here. you talk about modders then move TU, then about how greedy 343 is.
If you knew ANYTHING about modding, obviously not going to state specifics, you would know that halo reach can only be modded in forge and campaign, and even then a big percentage of people who do this are caught. there are NO modders in the halo reach multiplayer. even if there are they get banned within a day anyway. im pretty sure the “guys who shoot two bullets out of any gun at a single time” was due to some kind of lag within your game, a thing that is unavoidable in most games.
and with TU, they mainly reduced the usage and abuse of armor lock (praise them for that) and made the pistol like in halo ce, which a majority of the people like.
so please calm down and stop typing in all caps as it will not make your point any more clearer.

Unfortunately, the banhammer has no way of differentiating between “actively trying and not getting any kills” and being AFK. If this is the first infraction placed upon your account, it should just be for 24 hours.

Hello, I was recently banned and after reading these threads I now understand why… my brother and I were trying to reach the next rank to acquire certain armory items, when we saw that the weekly challenge was to get 200 multi kills in multiplayer matchmaking, we thought it’d be a good idea to play doubles, enter a guest on each of our accounts and get double kill after double kill. Neither of us had any idea it would get us banned, I knew quitting and console modding were grounds for banishment, but I assure we had no idea that what we were doing was wrong and would come with consequences- had we known we would have never done anything like what we did. We were excited thinking we found a cool way to level up fast, but when we saw the temp ban for earning credits we became concerned. Worried that our accounts we worked hard for and spent so much time on were now dubbed as “cheaters” … my question is for our certain situation, is our ban lenght severe? Is there a chance we can get off easy this time with it being our first offense? I’m not sure how you handle these things out, I do know what we did deserve it but we would have never put our accounts in jeopardy like this had we known. I look forward to a reply, my gamertag is Critical Riot. My brothers is UnmartialArtist.

First time bans tend to last 24-48 hours, they can also can not be appealed.

If you AFK, you don’t deserve to play this game. Count yourself lucky that 343i is much more merciful than I am.

in halo reach my account was band from earning credits. it has been 1 year since that and it still wont let me earn credits and it wont take me off probation from over a year ago so can u make it stop putting me on probation and being banned or give me alot of credits

You’ve quit many games in this month alone. It looks like you have a bad quitting behavior and could very well be the reason why you aren’t allowed to earn credits anymore. Other factors include: AFKing in Firefight, abusing bugs or exploits, Challenge resetting and continually quits/DCs. If you were put on probation you more than likely deserved it.
