I doubt anyone reported you, the system is automated to detect people AFKing (or by getting 0 kills, the system also assumes you’re AFKing). And AFKing can be considered boostable, I’ve seen people go +200 (that’s the extreme side of it) because they are boosting with AFK guests. You are also a being a burden to you’re team if you’re just sitting there doing nothing or by not getting any kills (though I think getting banned for that is a bit more over-the-top than necessary).
On a side note Its good to see the banhammer still in effect. Been playing since the game launched and have never been banned. Instead of boosting etc just PLAY THE GAME!
congrats on not getting banned alman…however-the-hell-you-pronounce-that. Someone that works with this damn game on a regular basis (for example the person that pushes the buttons that tells the program to ban me) needs to tell me exactly why I was banned, I brought this up yesterday morning and still haven’t received a satisfactory response. I have been playing this game since it came out, and while I am not the best player, I do expect than when somebody takes it upon themselves to reduce the usability of a product I purchased (Legendary edition btw, not to mention the $50 a year for XBL, and various DLC) Common courtesy dictates that at the very least, after spending money on their product they could tell me why they did.
Examples are as follow
“Hey you definitely, without a doubt, got banned for this reason _________________.”
“Hey for this reason _________________ you definitely, without a doubt, got banned”

I left for about an hour doing my homework with my dad and returned to a message on my screen saying my profile and xbox is banned from earning credits. I left my xbox on and was in a party of 6 and i thought they were playing custom games, but when i cam back and told them about the msg they all laughed…why am i banned this happened 6 minutes ago.
Since there’s a good chance of them playing in matchmakeing, it was because there, was no-one on your controller playing. You got banned for AFKing (Away From Keyboard). If it’s the first time you’ve been banned, it’ll only last 24-48 hours.
I logged in recently and once I started halo reach, and I received two messages. The first saying my account was banned from earning credits and the second saying my entire console was banned as well. I can still play matchmaking games, I just don’t earn credits. I respect my fellow players and enjoy playing this game. Can someone fix this for me? Or at least tell me why I am banned? Also, after searching through 343’s forums I have found out that the banhammer has apparently been glitching and banning people for no reason. Somebody please help I really want to earn credits, i’m finally on vacation and I can finally reach a higher rank. :S
Hey why am I mute banned I was not given any notice about it I thought it was a glitch but guessing its not its not. So how do I become not muted banned?

You played several games with a guest account who zero kills in lots of games. Unfortunately the Banhammer detects this as guest AFKing and will give you a temporary credit ban that lasts 24-48 hours for the first offence so you should be back getting credits soon.

You were probably banned for AFKIng as above but you had no guests justa fair amount of games where you got zero kills and as above the banhammer unfortunately sees that as AFKIng as well.

Mute bans generally come from lots of people muting you in the pre game lobby or during a game. Or from player complaints made against you by other players using the “submit Player review” feedback. If you play a lot of MLG that will result in Mute bans as opposing MLG teams usually auto mute the other team in the lobby. So if you play loud music or just have an annoying voice that pretty much means you will be muted by others and end up with a mute ban.
Hi I was just wondering why I got banded agin, I went out and bought Halo anniversary and the frist day I played it I got to play for one full day with my friends and was ganing cradets and friday the 4th I was banded for getting cradets for the hole weekend and had it turn back on on monday the 7th and by wensday the 9th I was misterly banded agin saying my gammer tag and my cradets where banded agin I dont know what I saposaly what I did wrong but know its been a week and I still cant get my points can u pleass get back with me I just dont see what i saposaly did pleass respond thanks…

without digging too far into your game history, i imagine you were banned for haveing multiple 0 kill games. The ban system flags this as AFK, which is considered boosting.

Your quit bans are most likely a result of a bad internet connection (dropping from games due to network troubles counts as a quit).
The other way to get a quit ban is, of course, by repeatedly quitting out of games. If you have a quit ban because you intentionally quit, then the ban is serving its purpose.
As i understand it, there is no way to appeal ANY ban.

I took a peek at your game history, and it showed a couple 0 kill games on the 14th i believe. This counts as being AFK. Even though you may have been moving around, not making a kill while trolling your team mates still counts as AFK.
Ok I have been credit banned since Sunday and it was my first offense when is this craps gonna end? I left my system on and ran to the store for about 30 minutes and came back and found the message. Doing research it was only supposed to last 24 to 48 hours yet its been almost a week. i continue to play and have some good games but me and a few friends always play so betrayals happen but that can’t add to the ban. i don’t get booted enough to where I have to wait 5 to 15 minutes to play matchmaking. i just wanna be able to warn credits since that’s why I play the game is to rank up. Can somebody please tell me when this stupid ban ends?! My gt is freshprince9287

You were most likely banned for that AFK activity. If the ban was greater than 24 hours, then this can not possibly be your first credit ban.
And as for getting the ban lifted, i wouldn’t count on it. Mods/Admins rarely if ever review this thread. To add to that, if you were banned, then there is an almost 100% chance that it was deserved.
They ban AFK’ers, because it is unfair for them to be earning credits for not playing. And it ruins games. Having a player on your team not move is detrimental to the experience of other players as well.
