I was banned from File Share way back during the first few weeks or so of having this game because I unwittingly downloaded a video called “Bloody Mess” that was showcasing an armor effect that cost 1,000,000 cR… or so I thought. Turns out it was a mod, and of course, if you share modded content, you get banned from File Share. It’s a little upsetting that because I was gullible I can no longer share my files with my friends. So many funny things have happened that I wish I could share. But anyway, if you all think I am lying, then you can look at my service record.

I remember getting a message for that. Good thing I’m synical and didn’t go for it lol! Didn’t it claim that your armor would “bleed” everywhere?
I’m not too broken up about it, though… I’ve been without the ability to share files for a year and a half. Hasn’t ruined my Reach experience. But if I could somehow get it back, it would totally be icing on the cake.
> i never got an email teling me the my xbox was being banned from earning credits… first it was my tag name… and then i keep gettin told that its banned… and i just got my game tell me wats up with that…
You were banned due to your guests AFKing activity in this game: Slayer on Powerhouse
First time bans tend to last 24-48 hours.
You are NOT e-mailed over in-game bans, only Xbox LIVE bans.
> Left my game on in a matchmaking lobby, and when I came back a few hours later I had been temp. banned from earning credits, is that the reason why? How long is this ban in effect its already been a day almost, its my first one, and do I get my challenge and other credits after it ends. And do I still get custom challenge credits during or after?
First time bans tend to last 24-48 hours.
Previous bans usually will result in this ban being two weeks long.

Wow cant believe I just read this entire forum 167 some odd pages 3000+ posts. Granted I skimmed 60+ percent of it. Got to say the bans seem awful harsh round these parts lol. Got say they realy should lax on those longer cR bans I think 2 weeks plus is a bit radical i think it should be like 24 and 48 and a couple days for repeaters and if they are really naughty permanent but nothing else. cause I dont think a second or third offense deserves 2 weeks. Any good advice form Little Moa props to active forum posters. You do a seevice to the community. lol.
I also have word for whiners just be glad you can still do custom challenges atleast enjoy it while you can who knows they may just take those from us banned players, and on the note of boosting here is my personal suggestion for a legit way to earn credits in thus still requires effort, first set up two custom challenges both firefight match making and time limit 3 hours set one for 800 kills and the other for 400 headshots now go to score attack and go for gruntpocalypse or veto til you get it not only is this achieveable in 2 hours at which point turn it in early and immediatly start again with 2 more, but you get about 415cR per match 5 to 7cR per grunt killed plus commedations daily challenges and performance and it takes about 4 to 6 to get all the headshot plus a few more for the 800 kills youll pull in 40,000 cR plus as long as you arent cR ban which is much more profitable then idling and AFKing and doesnt take much effort. So if you cant do that instead of AFKing which might get you a 1000 cR and thats if you get into a second match which you wont, then youre a complete inbreed.

Bans are not appealable.

Yeah, I know… I went through the five stages of grief regarding this issue a long time ago. lol.
The best I can do now is just wait until Halo 4 and use my newfound wisdom to avoid letting something like that happen to me again. I plan on using File Sharing to its fullest potential when Halo 4 comes out!

I think they are not harsh enough, considering how easy it is to boost or AFK and how many people do it getting away with it
with just a slap on the wrist.
> Oh and thanks for the reply, how do I officially thank people btw?
There is a Thank button above every post on the right side of the post box, click that and said user will receive a Thank from you.
I signed in the other day and was banned. I did not catch the reason why.
I do not believe I did anything to deserve a ban, but if I did please let me
know why so that I may not repeat it in the future.
> IM TEMPORARY BAN FROM EARNING CREDITS (MY ACCOUNT SO IS MY XBOX)ON HALO REACH WHY ITS THAT???
The ban hammer caught you either AFK’ing (you and your guest had multiple 0 kill games), or it caught you boosting. (letting your friends kill you for the purpose of stat/commendation/ETC, will also get a ban).
I’ve been given temporary bans twice now on the accusation of quitting games too often or something along those lines. I rarely if ever quit out of games and if so it’s for good reason… I started receiving the message that says something like “you’ve been quitting games too often recently, if you continue to do so you won’t be able to log in to Matchmaking for a while.” Now, this only started happening because my Reach disc wouldn’t load the maps on the disc when I tried to play some original Reach Slayer. (I almost exclusively play the Anniversary playlists these days). So, when I couldn’t load maps repeatedly, the Matchmaking system kicked me out of the game. I retried a few times because I miss having the jetpack lol. Anyways, so yeah I’m wondering how long/if ever I will continue to receive these messages and get banned. I don’t want there to be any possibility of getting permanently banned either, obviously.
I really don’t think I deserve this as a long time, dedicated Halo player.
i was playing halo reach earlier i kept getting betrayed and my team was going after me etc. couple hours later i logged back on and it said i had been temporarily banned from earning credits. i talked to xbox live all they could tell me was to post on here. how do i fix this and get unbanned so i can go back to earning credits?
Hey i have never been on this forum or any other in my life so don’t even know if this will work…
This is about (Halo 3) and both my account and console have been perm banned and i actually don’t know why… All i can think of is because i have been getting into games and not playing ??? But i don’t understand why i am perm banned for that? Just wondering if anyone can help.
