Why Did I Get Banned - The Official Thread

I don’t know. I remember that I didn’t get any credits after a game of matchmaking. I thought I was credit banned until someone told me that I reached the limit. 343 wouldn’t ban you for no reason. The only solution is that you reached the cap.

Edit: Console and account was banned? Tell me everything that you were doing before you got banned.

i was in middle of a game and it randomly said account banned then after the next game it said console banned and account banned, so im not sure y i didnt quit and i dont bost

my daughter also played with me and kept commiting suicide
but i dont think that would do it

i wouldnt be so upset but i was about to get 20000 credits

> Ok I received the message “this account has been temporarily banned from earning credits”. I admit to what I did and this ban is just. I was trying to get the super jackpot in firefight matchmaking quicker by voting for firefight limited and committing suicide to end the game faster. Like I said, this is completely understandable. I do have one question however. When the game first came out and there was still a cap on the ranking system I challenge boosted so I could get the weekly challenge multiple times. I was banned for two weeks and reset. I just want to know if this will affect the length of this recent ban. I read a lot of the Q&As on here but didn’t really get an answer suiting this unique situation. I really don’t want to be reset again because I haven’t cheated or boosted since the first time. I can understand a couple day ban for ruining the game for the other players though.

Your ban is likely to last longer due to your previous offences, but please don’t commit suicide in the Limited games to get a few extra credits, play the games, you ruin others’ fun by doing so.

> can anybody tell me why ive been banned from credits i havent cheated or quit any games on live this is crap, ive played this game for 2 years whats up with this banning people, my buddy got banned last month for nothing either and hes a new halo player so if anyone can help that would be sweet

You were banned for AFKing activity in this game: SWAT on Asylum

First time bans tend to last 24-48 hours.

The credit cap is 200,000 cR a day.

OK, I suck- but banned for it!!! You guys are near-immortal and I die instantly if somebody shoots in my general direction. So what? I thought it was just fun and games… until I joined Big Team matchmaking. Too much fun, BOOM! credit banned

Can someone gently review my career history without bursting into violent laughter?

See… I really suck that bad… stop laughing… it’s not a joke. =y-Y=

Does the credit ban only apply to Big Team games or does it apply to earning credits from everything? First ban is only one or two days, right? Maybe I should just avoid Big Team matches all together? A two or three week ban sounds terrible.

Been playing for about a year… doubt I’m gonna get any better overnight… If the credit ban applies to everything are there any other places I should stay out of so I don’t ruin game progress for almost a month next time?

You were banned due to AFKing activity in this game: TU BTB Slayer on Hemorrhage

First time bans tend to last 24-48 hours.

Thank you for taking a look, I appreciate the help but that’s not really true.

I just rewatched it and that round was pretty action packed.

I shot at all kinds of stuff, tried lots of different guns, drove most the vehicles and could of gotten an award for exploding a ghost on an armour locked opponent (if they gave out fail medals). The only times I stood still longer than 30 seconds I was ~trying~ to sniper… and can still see my avatar moving to aim and occasionally firing.

I go through alot of matches without any kills… sometimes end up in the negative where rocket launchers, cliffs or map boundaries (like the top of the spire, QQ) are involved.

If you’re jus assuming from the numbers maybe it was another round, I really doubt I was AFK (AFController?) at any time… but I could be wrong- might have spent a minute here or there rolling on the floor laughing at an epic fail or wiping away the tears after a severe beatdown… but I was right there playing.

All my multiplayer scores are more or less that low… nothing new, except trying BTB. I do OK by myself, on campaign… on easy. <.<

Time to take my BT ball and go home? Perhaps there’s no hope with scores like that?

I’ll definitely be making sure not to have any idle moments (I understand that’s the leading cause of bans), but I’m really worried that my play style (or lack there of) could get me banned again for longer. At the same time the Big Team Battles are sooo much fun.

Is it safe to keep playing BTB while credit banned? Maybe I could keep playing until I notice I get credits again and then stop? Or can I end up stacking the ban times?

Like I said, I didn’t say you were AFK, I said AFKing activity.

The ban hammer goes off, for AFK games, players with zero kill games, in this case, you have quite a few, I’m not assuming anything other than the fact you were banned for one of your zero kill games for AFKing activity.

Will I be reset?

> Will I be reset?

I haven’t heard of anyone getting rank reset for a long time, by that I mean nearly a year, I thought they were always done manually and ever since the big wave of rank resets on AFKers (First few months of Reach), I haven’t seen it since.

Okay so I was playing some firefight yesterday and for a few games I was very busy (very important irl issues i needed to get taken care of) so I didn’t play much within though’s 3 games and when I turned my Xbox back on (after the 3rd game) it said “I got a temporary credit ban” when I wasn’t even cheating? I mean I played a little bit during though’s 3 games but not a lot like I should have been. And, I never cheated in Halo Reach. I was so close to reach the hero rank to, I was like 45k credits away -_-. Can someone tell me how I can lift my ban early please?

Look at your records for those 3 games. Make sure that at least some activity showed up (kills, medals) for each one. It sounds like you were flagged for AFK somehow, which should only happen if all 0 stats appear, but I guess if it appeared to be AFK by a possible 343 employee that could have been in one or more of the games, they might have manually cR banned you. I would send a request for a recent game stat review. Just say you got distracted mid game, if it is a manual ban.

@Logan

I got ban by the automatic system has I was playing firefight with my friends.

Oh, so they were signed on as guests? All I can offer is rumor then. I’ve heard of people playing with some not so talented friends signed on as guests that produced questionably low scores getting the autoban, because, really, if you were AFKing with guests, you could just take 10 seconds to produce something with your afk guy to make it not 0 everything. I don’t know what they scored, but I also don’t know what you can do about it other than say, “I wasn’t AFKing”.

Oh, or did you mean that the other players were online friends and def not 343? Well, if that’s the case, maybe it was just a glitch where your kills, scores, and medals weren’t getting sent to Waypoint. Were you possibly having connectivity problems? Tallies from you games get sent upon completion of the games. So if you lookse connction right before or during the post game screen, it won’t get sent.

You were banned due to AFKing activity in this game: Arcadefight on Outpost

You admitted yourself you were AFK which is a bannable offence.
Bans can not be appealed.

First time bans tend to last 24-48 hours.

@Logan, it was not a bug with his data being sent to Waypoint, the banhammer tracks it from in-game, not the website.

i got credit banned for no reason but if there is a reason i wanna know why

You were banned due to AFKing activity in this game: FF Limited on Installation 04

First time bans tend to last 24-48 hours.

You boosted in FF, so you got banned
