Until I heard about this forum I didn’t know you could get banned for AFKing.

You should be telling us which one, if you have received no ban message, then it was simply a one off.
I’m not just on a mute ban. I’m on a mic ban. I can’t talk to anyone or even see if anyone has their mic plugged in. The only way I can talk to my friends is party chat.

Go onto Reach
Press Start on the main menu
Choose Audio Video
Check is Mute Voice is set to Not Muted (Default)
If it isn’t, then head to the Dashboard.
Go to settings
Choose Privacy
Choose Change Settings
Choose Customize
Choose Voice & Text and change it to Everyone.
One of those two will be causing the problem, it is not a ban

You weren’t banned. You can only earn so many credits a day. This is a piss-poor attempt to stop boosting.
Tomorrow, you should be able to earn credits.

You hit the daily credit cap which is 200,000 cR per day, you will be able to earn credits again tomorrow at 12:01AM on your Xbox’s time zone.
Im in the middle of playing legit games of halo reach and I receive 3 in game boxes that pop up saying Im “temporary” banned from earning credits? for what? last time this happened the “temporary” turned into THREE WEEKS… fix your limited system of detecting whatever it detects to “ban” people. I never thought I’d say this, but Im going back to CoD. -Yoink!-.
Hello, I wanted to post this because I am being told I am banned from earning credits. Now, I was unsure why this happened at first, because I do not break any rules or do any exploits. After searching around on the internet I found out one of the possible reasons is that you have a system in place that attempts to find people that are AFK in games, and that it does this by seeing multiple games of a very low kill count and high death. Now, the reason I am posting this is because I was not AFK, I was letting my younger brother, who I sat beside the entire time, play a few rounds of matchmaking. He is 9, and there is no reason why he (or I for this mater) should deserve a ban because of his skill level. If you can kindly go check every single one of my recent games you will see that he is playing them all, and fighting, he just has poor aim and obviously dies because of it. I’m not sure how else i’m supposed to prove this, other than sending you a picture of him holding my controller or something. I play Halo actively and was hoping to rank up a bit before I go on vacation, so a ban like this is not helping. I would appreciate it if you could at least go look at my recent games and see that somebody was playing and he was not AFK. Thanks.
Edit: To clarify, this isn’t a “I let my little brother on my account and he broke a rule” this is just “He’s 9 so of course his k/d ratio is super low, and the game thinks it’s being afk”

If it’s a 24-48 hour ban, I guess I can just wait it out even though I find it ridiculous I get banned for letting my younger brother play. Either way, i’d still like a reply to this.
Not the games fault. You’re a cheater, and therefore you must be punished. 
AFK’ing, guest-killing etc. can lead to credit bans.

My daughter and my self was just playing when I recieved a notice stating this console has been temporarily banned from earning credits at 12:00am. To be honest I’ve purchesed every halo memorabilia known to man ( limited pictures, Figures, Books, Multiple collecter games / versions etc ). I must say im disiapointed in the fact that someone who has’nt played FPS all that much would get banned and that its left to an automated system to determine. My question to you is! How do you get better at playing games? Do you play someone that is at the same level as you or do you play some one who is better!!! Of course when you first start out your not going to do that good. Halo is what got me playing FPS and if this is what is going to happen when I want to play a game with my daugter then i have know problem letting everybody I know, Halo / Bungie or 343 who currently has the halo rights, that I have no respect for them and I will do everything that I can to persuade friends and family members into buying another devlopers game. I’m asking that you guys review my games and that you would lift this bann. If you have any question please feel free to email me at delacotl@aol.com. You were banned for AFKing activity in this game: TU BTB Slayer on Boneyard.
If your ban last time lasted up to three weeks, expect another lengthy wait.

Bans are not appealable, they simply don’t have enough eyes & ears to check every ban, as you said, the only thing the ban hammer checks is the zero kill games, which you showed.
First time bans tend to last 24-48 hours.

Bans are NOT appealable, the only source the banhammer looks at, as well as 343i, is the game history, which will have zero kills games.
First time bans tend to last 24-48 hours.
Sorry, but I do not understand why both my console and my account have a ban from earning credits. My son and I were playing various matchmaking sessions yesterday and having a lot of fun. We don’t mod anything or look for cheats. Please just tell me if one of us did something to bring this about - and we will be sure it doesn’t occur again. We even have been trying to review our history online to understand this, but unable to see what brought this about. If you are going to ban us without telling us why - then we will never know, and will continue to more than likely do it again simply out of ignorance.
I would also ask for mercy if we did do something to cause this ban, since we are both still new and just trying to get better in every honest way. Thank you in advance.
I was banned on halo3 for three months, 2/5/2012 and todays date is 5/6/2012 why am i still banned??? its been 3 months already

> However, the community will help keep you honest. You have a public game history for everyone to see. If you post you were banned unjustly, the community is in their rights to check out your history to confirm or deny your claims. Please, just keep it clean.
So if we can’t appeal bans, what exactly is the point of this thread again? You can’t even tell us the exact time length of our ban. I just find it strange that my 9 year old brother is not allowed to play with me because the game considers him AFK, and 343i decides to not look into their bans. I guess i’ll have fun explaining to my little brother why he’s not allowed to play his favorite game(because big ol’ 343i decides he’s not good enough). I have a lot of respect for the game, it’s been most of my childhood and life, but I have to say that I have just lost all respect for 343i.
