Whenever I need a good laugh I come here.
It is very fun seeing all of the people who AFKed and boosted complaining that they did nothing wrong, and yet a quick search of their game history shows that they AFKed or boosted multiple games.
Now, here’s an answer to why you got banned: (and no you can NOT appeal)
- You AFKed for multiple games. And don’t say it was your girlfriend, boyfriend, sister, brother, mother, dog, car, etc. Unless they were standing still the entire game, they wouldn’t get banned.
- You boosted. (Ex: full party in Grifball w/ an AFK guest.)
- You hacked and/or modded. (That is a breach of the Terms of Use.)
- You were muted by a certain amount of people. So you can’t use the microphone anymore. (Only applies to mute bans.) If you want someone to hear you, have then um-mute you.
- You quit too many times.
Lengths:
Boosting/AFKing: 1st offense: 24 hours.
2nd offense: 2 days? (Not sure)
3rd offense: 2 weeks.
4th+ offense: 2 weeks and eventually a permanent cR ban.
Mute Ban: Forever. (Have your friends manually un-mute you.)
Mod/Hack Ban: Forever.
Quitting Ban: 10 minutes at first. But then you will be placed on probation for a few days. (Must be playing during these days.) If you quit while on probation, you get banned for 10 minutes. Do it again, after the 10 minutes, but before the ban is over, it’s 15 minutes, etc.
Popular Q&A:
Q:Why was my whole console banned because my brother, daughter, son, etc was AFK, boosting, mute banned, quit banned, or perma-banned for hacking.
A: This is done so that people don’t just switch accounts on the same Xbox and continue earning cR.
Q: How long am I banned for?
A: See “Ban Lengths.” However cR aren’t everything. You can get better at the game during the ban.
Q: Why am I banned? I didn’t do anything wrong!
A: Yes, you did. The Banhammer is 99.99% accurate. However, if it was incorrect, and you have the game history to prove it, contact one of the site admins. (I’m too lazy to put their names.)
Q: Grrr! I hate you Bungie/343! Why did you ban me?
A: You (un)intentionally broke the rules. Bungie/343/Microsoft reserves the right to ban you without explanation.
Q: My cousin/friend/girlfriend/ etc was over at my house and they haven’t played Halo or any FPS before. And I got banned. Can you lift the ban? Please?
A: No, 343 will not lift the ban. If you are teaching someone to play Halo, first let them play offline. Then move then to FF. Then, go to Grifball, Swat, Infection, or Action Sack. The point being, don’t take a guest who’s never played Halo before into MLG or BTB. Start them out on the easier playlists. Then slowly move to better playlists.
Q: Can I appeal my ban?
A: No, you have to wait it out.
Q: I learned my lesson and won’t do -insert whatever you did wrong here- again! please lift my ban!
A: First off, that’s not a question. Second, it’s good that you learned your lesson. Don’t break the rules again and you won’t get banned again. No, 343 will not lift your ban. Nor will Microsoft.
Q: Thank you for posting this, Scipio4052. It answered all of my questions! How can I ever repay you?
A: You’re welcome. You can repay me by not AFKing or boosting again. And there’s also a Thank button. Clicking that would be great.
Oh and if you guys/girls/moas could quote this to the people who ask the questions mentioned in the Q&A Section, that would also be great.
Q: Scipio4052! Are you a moderator? Do you work at Microsoft/343/Bungie?
A: No, I am not a moderator. And no I do not work at Microsoft/343/Bungie.
However, if I had to choose I would choose Bungie. I cannot stand the TU Beta.
Q: Scipio4052, have you ever been banned?
A: Yes, but only quit banned. And that was only thrice.
Q: Scipio4052! Will you marry me?
A; Only if you’re a girl.
Now I’m off to do homework!
Feel free to quote this. Just remember to quote me!
