I got cR banned for about a week, but the funniest part about it, i wasn’t even aiming for credits…i was aiming for the maps where i could get the achievements. Now its a pain in the rear, cuz u hav to sometimes constantly play until the rite map shows up, for ex. All Alone, I barely get a Defiant Map. i wish their was a playlist where its achievements only and on that playlist, you will NOT earn cR. i think that would make it easier, but its not my decision to make.

ive been trying to teach my son how to play halo and he isnt good. he doesnt get kills often and i try to avoid playing matchmaking games while hes playing but he insist sometimes so we did today. When we play im actively playing and in no way doing anything wrong. i love the game never cheat or anything of the likes. You can look at my games played and see im playing and doing what im supposed to. After we played quite a few games i get the temp ban, so i was wondering if there was anyway to change this? if not how long does it last. i need to play n i like the reward aspect of credits. if i posted this in the wrong forum im sorry. new to this forum.

A temporary ban most likely is a result of leaving matches. either that or you’ve been found under some rule or guideline which was broken. Either way, depending on how many times this has occurred will determine your time limit. Could be 5 minutes, could be 24 hours.
ME(klown083) and my friend (Rationalhydra) just got banned and I would really like an answer to why we got banned. We absolutly did nothing wrong. when we finished our last game where everyone on our team quit but us, we got the ban message. I would like to know why. We didn’t violate any of the terms of use at all. I would like an immediate answer please! I’m getting sick of getting banned for abosolutly nothing!

Havnt quit in a week and did nothing else. All I can think of is him not really accomplishing much when he plays and sometimes he’d bail on me half way and just sit there. Probably it. Hope it ends soon. I wanna play!

Sounds like the banhammer might’ve caught you for being AFK. Do you and your son play on a main and guest account, or from the same console? If so, if your second player is constantly going AFK, the banhammer assumes you’re boosting (or doing something of the sorts).
The ban shouldn’t last too long, and, unfortunately, it’s the result of a few bad seeds in matchmaking that force the banhammer to act this way. If you have any further problems, try sending bs angel a private message and explain what happened, she might be able to help you.

Earlier I was playing matchmaking with my girlfriend (gamertag Fairy S Truman) and a couple of friends and my girlfriend went several games without getting a kill but she was actually playing. Today was pretty much her first foray into halo. Could recent betrayals or quits be that cause? If I deserve it I am fine with that but I would just like to know.

What I find to be so interesting about the whole thing is, if we are being monitored and “dealt” with there should be someone I can call and talk to about the situation. Leaving us hanging for X amount of hours/days/weeks is absolutely ridiculous. I didn’t pay for your game so you could tell me I can’t play it the way it was meant to be played.

> As you likely guessed after mentioning the zero kill stuff, there is no way to appeal a ban, this topic is to simply find out why you were banned and sometimes, how long for.

Nobody officially monitors this topic in regards to appeals, this is a topic that us the community use to tell others who were banned, why and sometimes how long, clearly you were not playing the way it was intended to play if you received a ban.

I’m only 8 hours late to here but I would like to say, bans can’t be appealed, as far as I know, the only evidence they can go off is the game history, which will simply show zero kills, resulting in an AFK ban, there is no way to tell the difference between an AFKer or a bad player.

How do I Appeal? I want a clean record bc i dis nothin wrong! I’m still credit banned and it sucks! I wasn’t aware of the afk ban or I’d never let my son play. He’s young n no good… Yet. He will be a prodigy ! Ha
Wish there was a way to tell the difference between Cheaters and people who don’t play well. Jut want my son to love te game like I do

i have been banned previously because of getting the max limit by getting lucky in the slots on reach and finishing all challenges.
every time i come onto halo:reach, i get a message saying that i have been banned for two weeks. is this supposed to show every time? i dont think there is an infinite ban mechanism or whatever, but please, 343 help me get this straight.

To start of, you were NOT banned for getting lucky slot machines, that was silly to think of, you were banned for something else.
As regards to your current ban, if you are banned for two weeks, it will always popup saying two weeks until the ban is over, it isn’t endless loop of bans, it is just a bit of laziness on Bungie’s part for ban notifications.
I was playing infection with a friend and about a minute or so into the match a notice popped up and said that i was temporarily banned from earning credits. The notice didnt even state how long the ban would last for. I didnt cheat, hack, boost, i dont understand what i did wrong. I just would like to know what i did or how long this would last for.
