Sorry that I haven’t read through all 140 pages to find my answer… LOL …but I seem to have been mute banned. I don’t know how or why, though. I’ve had several people UN-mute me and tell me I seemed like a nice guy (I am) and couldn’t figure out why I would be either.
What causes this? My friends don’t see me muted, though.
Im mot gonna lie. I was credit farming today. I wasnt aware that it was that serious but now that if read all the online discussions i know why i got credit banned. Can someone please tell me how long i will be banned and anything else i should know? Thanks.

Thanks for that, it is time consuming finding three games when it is easier to just link you to one of the three and tell you you were banned.
Keep in mind that even if you have one AFK game when Reach came out, and two yesterday, that will result in a ban, they all add up.

Mute bans occur when a lot of people mute you within a certain timeframe, it is a good system but it is horribly exploited, everyone in the MLG playlist mutes the other team so they don’t hear call outs, and a lot of them get mute banned.
The time length for a mute ban is unknown, there is no way to remove it other than wait.

You don’t get banned for credit farming, you get banned for boosting.
Regardless, first time bans tend to last 24-48 hours.
> If i didnt get banned for credit farming, why did i get banned?
Well Credit Farming is as it is, farming, you are not breaking any rules, just focusing on doing one commendation or doing the Target Locator trick on ONI Sword Base.
Just to help me out, what exactly is the ban message you got?
REALLY??? awesome i was actually getting worried because people were saying credit bans can be up to 2 weeks… Thanks.
One more question though, Is it ok to reset my challenges or will i be at risk of getting banned for real this time?

Challenge resetting is against the rules and WILL get you banned, I advise highly against it.
> Is there any possible way to do it with out getting caught?
Even if there is, nobody should tell you, and I don’t think they will. I almost positive discussing exploits and the like will get you banned. Just use custom challenges, you can get more credits, and the risk of getting banned for an exploit is eliminated…
PM me if you need help getting to the custom challenges.

That can’t be right. If I got 1 game 2 years ago that had 0 kills cause I just started and 2 more 0 kills yesterday because I had a bad game, and I got banned for that I would drive my self to the 343 headquarters and raise hell.
Just using logic the longest I’d say is 1 week. Like it compiles a list of games during a one week period.
I’m more inclined to believe the Hammer goes off a 48 hr cycle. Maybe even 24. If you have 3 games with 0 kills in a 48 hr period you’ll get banned. Any longer than that seems REALLY REALLY unfair. And I am a big supporter of the Banhammer, regardless of the flaws. But that right there would be a deal breaker.
Thanks, moa. It’s not a big deal really. At least I don’t have to mute the squeakers! LOL
It’s funny 'cause I’d hear my buddies talking to people and I couldn’t hear them. And nobody was muted on my screen either. So we asked a couple people and they said I was muted so I kind of put two and two together.
What message did you get? Did you just hit the daily credit limit or did you get a message telling you that you’ve been banned for getting credits for X amount of time?
While working on daily challenges with my son, xbox started to tell us that we could no longer earn any credits temporarily. Shut down xbox thinking it may have an update to download. No download but now as soon a we start to play Halo Reach, we are told that the console has been temporarily banned. We’ve earned a lot more credits that today before & xbox was bought new.
I’m looking at your games and all I see is you getting a lot of kills in Firefight, while who I assume is your son, is not getting any kills at all and going negative 10 or higher each game.
