Hi, my account Jugement92 with the entire console have been banned from earning credits on Reach.I know my brother was playing, you can help me with this ban, please look at my game history, I rarely leave the game, thank you very much.
> My son got credit ban for AFK (I think that is signing in as a guest but not playing). I have sine told him this is wrong and although not a reason, he really wasn’t trying to be malicious. He has had troubles with assassinations lately and was trying to figure out why it wasn’t working lately. He has not done this “boosting” in mind (nor will he further). So i understand the credit ban and he needs to stick it out. The question i have is that we do not see an end date listed or a length of the temporary ban. Even when signing on under the other accounts on the XBOX. Is there a place to look up how long a ban is in effect?
First time offences tend to last 24-48 hours, bans don’t tend to mention how long they last for.
> is there anyway of knowing how long your ban will last. I know I’ve not been band before, this is definately my first time. But thats understandable, Halo has rules and I didn’t follow them. How will know how long the ban will last? I miss playing Halo
Nope, you are rarely told but the community figured that first time offence - 24-48 hours, second time offences - 1-2 Weeks and from there on in, it isn’t known or at least for me.
> ok i was banned for an ingame glitch, i was using the japenese keyboard and went to go change my clan tag, and to my surprise it worked, i changed my clan tag to 3/4 played an infection game and was insta console banned, it wasn’t a mod or a hack it was a ingame glitch, and my gamer tag is I r Lazy XD
You don’t get banned for having 3/4, you get banned for having ¦ in your service tag, which is only possible through a hex editor when you drag your profile into it.
> After reading several pages I now understand I was banned for a guest afking… in FF Doubles. I do not like laggy games and don’t see the point in getting stuck with a lame teammate in FF. Wish I knew I would be banned for making FF harder on myself, seemed like a perfectly legit way to boost kills to me… Its FF, I wanted to play it by myself, didn’t know it would get you banned.
Score Attack is ALWAYS available for solo Firefight play, you are gaining an unfair advantage when playing FF Doubles with an AFK guest.

> Just befor the switch the weekly chalenge Co-op Dash and daily reset so me and my friends could do it again why did that happen
Just a simple load failure from the servers, it would have loaded eventually.

What is your brothers gamertag, we will be able to look at his game history to see if it was him who caused the console ban and not you, I can’t find anything rule breaking in your game history to say the least.
(I had sent an email to XboxLive customer support, and after a couple exchanges, they told me to post my appeal in this thread. If you want to read the original email I sent, which does contain a few smaller bits of info that I won’t repeat, use this pastebin link: http://pastebin.com/qBWiUPK0)
Gamertag: ENDZYM3
The short version:
I found out how to mod my service tag to have Bungie’s logo.
I was roundabout 18 years old. I was cool, I was edgy. I thought it was neat.
Yeah, it’s against the rules. I understand that, especially now.
But over a year has passed. Probably nearing two years now.
I personally feel that it’s been long enough, but feel free to debate that.
The longer version:
The thing is, I had never scammed anyone. I never impersonated any employee, known or unknown. When asked how I got it, I replied truthfully “Oh, I just saw this youtube video and blablabla.”
(In retrospect, that may have been my downfall. T_T)
This did not negatively alter anyone’s gameplay experience (except maybe mine, as I was “T-bagged” quite…quite often. What is wrong with people?). I wasn’t aimbotting or anything. I wasn’t shooting rockets out of my pistol, I wasn’t modding credits into my account to get the best armors, I wasn’t shooting my way to the top of the charts, I wasn’t doing, well, hardly anything…and that’s why I feel that I have a decent chance at getting this ban removed.
Again, I was permanently gamertag and console banned from matchmaking. This also ties into a release that I could not have been aware of at the time; Halo Anniversary.
I can’t play it online, so you can bet your sweetness that I won’t buy half of a game.
The “Just shut up already.” version:
As far as my history goes, before this, I had only been banned once, and that was for something I’m not sure of. Two of my other really close friends got banned at the exact same time as I did (we were playing together) and it was only a two or three day ban, so we didn’t mind it too much.
Like I said in the email, I pretty much stopped playing my Xbox entirely. Except now that I think back, I do remember playing Blops and F.E.A.R. a couple times, trying to squeeze out what value I have left in my Xbox; It didn’t work.
Halo MAKES the Xbox. That was the entire point of owning the thing, at least for me.
Without it…I don’t even know why I hung on to the thing for so long. But, I think I’ve said enough. I don’t want to bore anyone any further. That might also work to my disadvantage.
Anyways, if you’ve read this far, thanks for caring at least that much.
I just wanna play some Reach again.

Your ban won’t even be undone, it was done because you broke the Xbox LIVE Code of Conduct, it was natural response from Bungie to ban you.
“Don’t make unauthorized modifications to your account profile or its contents.”
Source: Xbox LIVE Code of Conduct
Your best best would be to make a new account & if not already, get a new console if you which to enjoy Anniversary’s multiplayer & Reach’s multiplayer.
Even if I get a used console…
I’m gonna be looking at around 130+ dollars just to play two games.
So you mean to tell me that Bungie doesn’t do mercy unbans anymore?

They never have, also, as of March 31st, Bungie handed over full control of Halo to 343 Industries, they themselves rarely look at the topic if ever.
Your ban was justified so it will stand, regardless of how long it is or how sorry you are, you broke an Xbox LIVE rule as well as a in-game rule.
They have in the past. I seen 'em. It was rare, sure. But it happened.
I’m gonna stop wasting my time now though, since this obviously isn’t going anywhere.

I’m not disputing anything, I do understand the entirety of the rule now and it certainly wont happen again; I agree with the rules. I don’t understand the advantage I was getting by doing score attack by myself. It seems more like a hindrance than a advantage to me - making it harder to get a perfection and finish the kills in set time. True I’m getting much more kills if I don’t have to share them, was the main point of the endeavor, but I didn’t consider it cheating (obviously I was wrong). Just wish I would’ve sucked it up and dealt with laggy games and dumb teammates so I’m only mad at myself.

When you drag the games on longer, which tends to happen with solo play in Doubles, you get a bigger game completion bonus than you would finishing it faster with a second player.

i didnt do that tho, and after the symbols i changed it back anyway, but still got a console, thats just plan right stupid
Hi, my brother is 3 years old, was only when I went to the store and when I returned had me banned(aprox 1 1/2 hours in the store). In my opinion I had a good history’s game, please help me with this ban. thank you very much.

Was your brother on your gamertag or not, this helps greatly to figuring out why you were banned.
If he wasn’t, what gamertag was he on?
There should be a ‘flag for dispute" button on the ban notification. I was confused when we got the notice that I was temporarily banned from earning credits, because we weren’t doing anything wrong. From reading posts here, it’s probably the low kill count by my guest. She’s just that bad though. No hatin’, she’d be three first to admit it. how long will this ban be for? I just renewed my gold subscription tonight so I want to know how long this ban will be.
Yea I was wondering, can you get a permenant ban for quitting? Cause I keep getting banned for 10 minutes when my internet fails once or twice a day… it disconnects just long enough to make me lose my game progress and “lags” me out of the game. Now I admit to rage quitting a couple times but I really enjoy playing reach and I would like to continue doing so… I would greatly appreciate a reply. Thank you, Mitch aka gamertag: zxDarth Vaderxz
HOW DO I GET UNMUTED!? My little brothers played on my account, and yes that’s my responsibility or whatever, but how long until I’m unmuted?

Your ban is likely to last 24-48 hours for first time offences.

You will NEVER get a permanent ban from any sort of service or feature on Halo: Reach for quitting or lagging out, unless you are intentionally using network manipulation to lag out.

It was never discovered how long mute bans last, however, anyone can unmute you.
Hi -
Is there a sticky on this thread that shows what you were banned for or how long the ban will last? My son got earn credit banned, but we can’t figure out why or how long it will last. I made him let his -Yoink!- brother (who can’t play well) play with him as a guest. And I also made him go clean his room so he had to quit out of a game.
GamerTag: SwatTrent
Thanks for the help. Figuring this out as I go along.

No player called SwatTrent has ever played Halo: Reach according to Halo Waypoint.

Thats cause its swat trent. two words…
I couldn’t find anything though. I also didn’t see a consistent set of games with the same player. If him and his brother were playing together, I can’t see it. Unless they were custom games… Maybe you can find something MOA
my brother was using my gamertag
