It seems as if I can’t voice chat, send or receive messages, or chat with party members. I have not receive any messages saying that I have been banned and was wondering why, and if the ban is only in halo.
> There were a lot of mistakes made with this game. Much of it is the result of sloppy programming. Answer me this, if credits didn’t exist in this game, would you still enjoy playing it? Reach is basically a learn from your mistakes kind of game now. Halo 4 is just around the corner so the likelyhood of any of these mistakes getting fixed is slim to none. Bungie was pretty much done with Halo after Halo 3, but was still under contract with Microsoft for another 2 games. ODST was pretty good, but when they got to Reach, it’s almost like they just wanted to be done and over with it. I actually kind of stopped playing myself. I guess I got kind of tired of all of the updates that were made that didn’t fix any of the problems with this game. Instead of fixing the betrayal system, a new playlist gets added. New map packs get added, yet the new maps never show up. I can go on for days.
if their was no cr earning their would not be the ban process so yea i would still enjoy playing it , however if they dont fix the problems i wont be buying halo4 its gotten rediculous
And y u get rank banned? I’ve seen pp with a low grade but with 30k kills and 64% comm. D:
> You can blame a gentleman by the name of Sage Merill for this my good sir.
As far as I know, Sage was the man behind the sandbox balance for Halo 3 & Reach, not the ban detection.
> My sister GT- LittleTiff24 and my wife GT- SpiderChelsea got the ban hammer last night (I didn’t know what it was for or even what was happening, I thought there might have been a server glitch) Anyhow, I researched it and it turns out it was because they were AFK… AFC, but the bummer thing is they were cooking dinner while playing and then something happened ( a fight between my two sisters) now they are banned.

Call of Duty kicks you from games when it starts and you don’t choose a class, not if you are AFK the whole game.
AFKing was a problem found Reach shortly after it was released, meaning kicking players from the game who were doing it, wasn’t possible without a Title Update, which Bungie confirmed, they had no plans for code changes in Reach, this is also why the AFK banning system isn’t the best, it only goes off your kills & deaths over the course of three games since the first zero kill game, there is no way to track movement in-game or bullets fired or anything, which was a shame, I thought 343i could have used the technology behind ATLAS to implement such changes, sadly not.
Any ways, you know what you were banned for, AFKing, it doesn’t matter if it was accidental or unintentional, it has always been a rule since added last year and will continue to be one for a long time.
First time offences tend to last 24-48 hours regardless.
> Hello,

> I just started playing Halo again a few days ago and have played a lot today, then randomly, I just got banned from earning credits because my guests and my friends guests didn’t really understand how to play. I never heard anything about bans so it didn’t really bother me, but now I’m banned from earning credits for 2 weeks. AFK’s on guests shouldn’t be a 2 week ban.
>
> Please fix these issues. Thank you.

There is no way to differ bad players from AFK guests, hence your ban, it will not be lifted.
You were NOT two week cR banned for AFK guests, you were two week cR banned for your continuous offences, first time bans are never two weeks long.

Sounds like it is a family setting on your account, change the family settings on the adult account so your account has adult preferences.
Also, try going into Reach’s main menu, press start, go to Audio Video, it should say Matchmaking Voice, make sure this is set to All Players and Mute Voice is set to Not Muted.
> And y u get rank banned? I’ve seen pp with a low grade but with 30k kills and 64% comm. D:
Assuming you mean rank resets, that is only after multiple credit bans have occurred for boosting or AFKing.
Hello,
Sorry it was my mistake, this is my first offense. I just couldn’t figure out how long bans were for offenses because almost all of the threads I have looked at just say “Stop Cheating!”. This is my first offense.
I just want to know how long it will take for this ban to end? I had guests in my game who didn’t know how to play.
Regards,
Plasma Ray

24-48 hours tends to be the time for a first time ban.

No, even if you choose a class and then become AFK you still get kicked after a while. I am speaking from experience.

It hasn’t been like this at all since Call of Duty 4 was released, unless it was addressed in a MW3 title update, it doesn’t work like that at all.
Well. After emailing wehelp@microsoft.com, I was told that “the ban was legitimate”, and basically they’re right and I have no way to prove otherwise, so I should just wait. Some help…

What day were you given your ban?

Last saturday. It was only one week, so its already been lifted. But still. I missed out on about 500k cR just because I wanted my friend to play with me?
This is the dad of GT “Hi Im Randy.” I just found out he got a two week suspension from Halo but the details he related were “sketchy” to say the least. I am a long time gamer (GT Walladog) and as I am the gamer parent in a gamer household, we don’t approve of cheating, glitching or any other abuse of the XboxLive system.
After years of satisfying service, I am sure that if he got the banhammer dropped on him…he deserved it. I just wanted to see if there was any further info you could give me on what it was he was doing to get the ban.
Thanks to the mods and enforcement folks there at Bungie, as well as -Yoink!- for figthing a never ending battle to end -Yoink-. Any info you can give me will help my fight to stamp out -Yoink- here at home!
Hey, I have been a long time halo fan through all of the games. After playing reach for awhile and mw3 i got sick of all xbox games and decided to jump onto my favorite, Halo 3. When i got on i realized and remember i have been permanently banned from match making!
i was just wondering if because i haven’t had any problems with the ban hammer since that point on forward and i learned my lesson. if there was a way to beg someone to remove the ban. Thanks to anyone that can help.

I haven’t tried it in any other COD other than MW3, but I know in MW3 you get kicked even if you choose a class.

Your son was banned for AFK boosting were the player does not play and gets free credits for doing nothing which is against the rules.
Here is a game were he had zero kills, no medals & five deaths, which triggered the ban hammer.

Thank you so much! Activating Dadhammer!

Haha, just go easy on him, it may have been accidental, he may have needed to do something quickly so dropped the controller completely forgetting about the rules.
I forgot to mention, the ban should last 24-48 hours.
About a month ago, my friend and i were playing Halo 3 matchmaking in Team Slayer. We played a couple of game it was going good. Then we got paired up with someone named “idk y i carry u”. He did good so me and my friend partied up with him and we played about a good 16-30 games. Then after we played those games we were just sitting in a lobby together. So then we ended at a game on Heretic. Then the guy told me what he was doing. He said he was doing something called Hostbooting. I told my friend i didn’t want to play with this cheater so we quickly avoided him and filed a complaint. We somehow got paired up with him again on his other account named “DripsBlood” because he told us that it was him. we played halfway through the game and won, but the whole time the game was red bar. And i got mad because i wanted to play and actual legit game so i quit the game and went to play lonewolves then i kicked my out back into a matchmaking lobby while i was searching and it went from Xbox Live Connection to Local Connection. So i thought it was just simple internet lag. so i reconnected to Xbox Live and went to play Halo 3 again and it said i was permanently banned from matchmaking on this account and my console was banned for 3 months. I honestly think i was mistakenly banned for the other guy or something because i had really nothing to do with it besides getting paired up with him and playing the game until the last time i got pared up with him before my ban.

Sadly, in Halo 3, they banned anyone who had a host booter on there team, as you were gaining an unfair advantage out of it, I know it is extremely unfair, heck it is why I tried to avoid ranked in Halo 3(and because I sucked at it), I didn’t want to get banned for actions unrelated to me.
I received a message Tuesday night saying my XBOX Console and account was temporarily banned from earning credits. Can someone please tell me why? I never received any warning or notice. I was playing and suddenly the notice just appeared on my schedule. What happened?
