> Hey! Im a recently signed up player to Xbox Live. I was recently playing online at a friends house when suddenly a message (in the middle of a game) appeared to all of us saying that we could no longer earn credits. My friend and his brother have both gotten rid of theirs I think… Unfortunatly I have not. I just had a couple of questions to ask about this… I havent betrayed anyone whilst playing or been AFK, I just had these two questions to ask:
>
> 1. I wondered why I have been banned from earning credits/leveling?
> 2. How long will the ban last? - Ive only had Xbox Live 5 days and I want to be able to get my level up again ):
>
> Thank you (:
Right, I know the answer and actually, you were banned for AFKing but in fact, you just didn’t get any kills in the game.
Aww thank you for replying (: I just got online and I was hoping to try catch up with my friends on their levels at some point… I guess that isnt happening Also how did they get rid of their credit bans so soon? I just dont understand ): I only got Live so that I could play online and earn credits messing with friends… Ive loved playing each time and I just dont understand why Id be banned for not doing well. I guess Im not used to playing against people that are alot better than me haha. Thank you for you reply No use getting upset over something I cant help… Thank you again (:

I know it’s a bit off, but it’s the way the system works to detect AFK Boosting, which to be honest, is pretty bad.
Hope you can have fun with your friends without cR though
I keep getting ten minute bans for quitting games I’m not quitting. Is there anyway to get this reversed? I am not quitting nor am I getting booted. The game stalls, looks for a new place to start up, the bang the I hear “GAME OVER”, my points get tallied and I am introduced into the lobby to find I’m banned. I play alot of Matchmaking and I’d like to keep playing. Is there a solution to this?
> You should be thankful your console didn’t get banned from Xbox LIVE. What you did is a breach of the Xbox LIVE Terms of Use.
Please tell me where in the ToS it says that I’m not allowed to plug in and use a USB keyboard. “What I did” has no relation to console modding (which is in the ToS). “What I did” was use the resources I was allowed to use (a keyboard which Microsoft allows on the 360) to set my service tag. So no, I don’t consider myself lucky.
> May I ask about this ‘Bungie’ Service Tag?
>
> I have never heard of them getting an exclusive tag for themselves.
If you used a USB keyboard or you modded your game you could get the “|” character as your service tag which for some reason appeared as the Bungie icon while in-game. Google it and I’m sure you can find it somewhere.
Last night, I had my kids logged onto their respective Gold accounts and was playing Rumble Pit with them. Suddenly, my wife calls the kids into the other room, so they disappear to find out what she needs.
I end up finishing the game without them playing, and suddenly I am credit banned…for God knows how long.
I can understand wanting to punish people for cheating, but locking the game down so that I can not gain anything because of ONE game that might have seemed a little bit fishy strikes me as -Yoink!--ish.
If someone can not unlock my ability to earn credits, can an admin at LEAST tell me how long I have to wait until I can earn credits again?
All four of my Family Pack Gold Accounts are credit banned.
All four, what? Thought it was exclusive to the GT. Well…bans are the user’s responsibility and if someone else uses their GT and consequences happen, tough luck, even if it is a dad. >.>
However if your GT was credit banned unjustly for no reason, you should go to the multiplayer section of the forums at look at the very first thread.

You shouldn’t trust your kids on the console then if they are just going to run off mid-game, as soon as you get unbanned, you tell them to leave a game if it’s in progress if they are going to avoid any further bans.
Also, it is not a permanent cR ban, it will last two days or two weeks.

The credit ban was not the result of cheating. I just had three out of the four people playing on my console bail on a game within about thirty seconds of it starting.
Just sucks, since today was my first day off in two weeks and I can’t even enjoy my game and earn credits while doing it.
It appears no one who can do anything about it has even bothered to read the thread, much less do anything about it.
You would also think that there would be some kind of indication as to how long the ban will actually last.
Reading through the first post of this thread, I really do not understand why the banhammer came so swiftly.
My children, aged 10, 8, and 5, are obviously not particularly skilled players, so I guess it could have appeared that there was some level of boosting going on, but all of the players in a rumble pit matchmaking game would have had just as much opportunity to take advantage of their general lack of skill as I would.
As for those who would say that my children are at fault for leaving the room when their mother addressed them, I will make you a wager that you can guess which of my fingers comes to mind.
And still, hours later, no response from anyone who has the authority to do anything about it. Wonderful.
> getting zero kills (because the banhammer thinks you are afk)
Zero kills? What if you simply suck? will you get banned for simply sucking. “Oh, i get 0 kills because i suck at the match” “You are banned because we think you are afk” WTF. So just because someone had to go to the bathroom or something they have a risk of not only losing but getting banned? Please correct me if i have my info wrong.
This happened to me last night, I was playing with two guests, one of which was not very good. I went into multi team after a few games so we wouldn’t drag down anyone else when in the middle of a game on countdown I got a message saying I was credit banned.
I’m not too concerned about a temporary ban from earning credits although if the system thinks I have AFK guests when I don’t, what is going to prevent this from happening again or getting worse?
First I want to say yes I was on a quit probation. My reasons are my own and since the probation I have not quit a game, Matchmaking or firefight.
Maybe someone else has experienced this, Yesterday I played a game of arcadefight. Only two (me and one other) of three started playing the game. The first player didn’t even start the match, the second quit out half way throught. I carried on andfinished the game. After the game I go back to the lobby and I find I have been temporarily banned from matchmaking. Today playing Arcadefight was in a game with one other. They quit out so i carried on playing again. The time ran out and the game was over. Back in the lobby, I’ve been banned again.
I have not noticed this once in the past year, and it happened the first time after 343 was doing something to the servers or something yesterday (there was thread on here about that yesterday). Is something not quite working correctly?
Being banned for something you have done yourself, is annoying but you can deal with it. But being banned because of someone else, or where something in the game is not working as it should is completely different.
The links below are from the two games, the top one is todays game.

The only thing I can think of for this is splitting lobbies. Sometimes if a FF game is too laggy for someone, the game will split that person off into their own duplicate game of FF with the original party members continuing in the original game. If you weren’t host when the split occurred, then once the host posts his game to Bnet with you showing a DNF, that’s bad news bears. Even though you completed your duplicate game, you were still technically “booted” from the original counting as a tally for the quit ban.

Bro, I completely understand your situation, I do. It doesnt seem fair at all that you got hammered becuase of just one game. On the other, being a parent (i have a child too) you sometimes have to deal out punishment in whole and not weigh out each situation. If Tim pushes Tom down the stairs, but Tom says Tim poked in the eye first, your not gonna have a court hearing in the kitchen to “get to the bottom” of that -Yoink!- for tat, you just hit em all with a time out. Your situation is the same, and although it seems you got the but end, some 1% of all MM players are booted, and im sure its 1% percent of those being booted that fall into your unfair catergory. It would be great to have a few people to review these cases, but 60 dollars for a game is already too much without paying the salary of 15 tech admins to watch halo videos all day. Its possible that an admin will hear your case, but most likely your just gonna have to suck it up. Its only two days.
Never to question you parent ability, but a 5 year old online? Halo no less? Maybe its a game best left for children who can compete somewhat. To be honest, if your children stayed and played the whole game, they probably wouldnt have gotten many kills, if any, and the banhammer would have found you anyway. Bottom line, if your 5 year old isnt gonna get kill, then get outta MM and play a custom. If you head back in MM this weekend with your children, you might find a more lethal swing of the hammer. Its job is to find those without kills, and ban them for boosting/afking. Technically, and when it comes to computer programs, it only deals in technicallies, your children were just that, AFK. Now you wanna argure that other players are just as capable as scooping up those kills, and yes they are, but not if you can screen look at three afk players. There is no way around your situation unfortunately, and my heart goes out to you. Hopefully youll be back up and running in a few days as i think the first offense is a two day hiatus. Again, im sorry. I really do feel bad about your situation

You went to the bathroom for an entire match (~15 minutes). Something doesn’t quite sound right.
A Question Again: How Would 343I Know if someone who is not playing with no Kills in a game and someone playing with No kills in total But does try? My team is killing them and im trying to Kill them but they ALL Left before i could, i could only get either nothing or assists. They should have a system to show if the Player is moving in the game or not other than 0 Kills, What about getting 0 Kills in Action sack aswell as your mostly are going to Get 0 Kills. (I know Bungie did as they said its easy if they are standing still as it shows on their code system.)
But i agree with Firefight, A Certain amount of score low as 30,000 in FF Doubles can be a bit “Suspicious.”

They can’t that’s the problem, it bans bad players.

Obviously, it’s your decision to let your children play a mature rated game but matchmaking is the deep end of the swimming pool.
Why not try Campaign or set up some custom games and Firefight for you and your kids to play offline? This will avoid the wrath of the banhammer and let you tailor something more to their skill level. As they get better, you can ramp it up!
