Me and my son were playing split-screen and out of know where I get a temp exp ban. It didn`t even explain why.Is this a glitch?
It looks like you were boosting with your guest. I looked over three of your games and its more like you had a guest to help you boost for xp. I do belive you that your son was playing but due to his poor game playing it looked more like you were boosting
This just happened to me playing with my 10 year old sister split screen. She wanted to learn to play Halo, so I signed her in as a Guest account online. Obviously, she sucked, but she was having a good time so we just continued to play Flood matches.
Are you telling me that I was xp banned because of a skill difference between a 23 year old veteran of Halo games (me), and a 10 year old girl just learning to play?
I’m sorry, but that is absolutely ridiculous. It seems like this newer, more rigid banhammer is WAY too sensitive. In this case, I was just punished for playing a game with a family member.

Many games online these days are like this.
I’m not one to complain, but this is starting to get outta hand. I mean, it’s a video game, but it’s things like this that really ruin the experience. Your telling me that if I play splitscreen with somebody, they better do well or I’ll be an assumed booster and banned?

So thats a legit ban, because I play games with my kids. This needs to be fixed , I don’t want a perma ban since I only really ever play xbox with them.

Halo Reach is like this as well. Your best bet is to play custom games and custom Spartan Ops instead of online matchmaking.

On one side of the line gmaers who use guests to boost earn free xp to cut corners on leveling up and because of this if your stats look like your pulling this off you will get an xp ban. I know that makes playing with family/friends who dont have the skills pointless but thats where one side has to be picked. What i do belive is that there should be a playlist for players hwo have guests that arint gamers and are just playing for fun with you

I suppose, but I believe they should instead revamp the banhammer. If it’s banning legitimate players, it’s corrupted it’s purpose. It’s just like the American Legal System. What’s that saying?
“Better ten guilty men go free, then one innocent man imprisoned”
Or something along those lines. My point being that however it’s “detecting” boosting needs to be overhauled, or dropped altogether. Because while this has prevented boosting, it’s also severely punished gamers playing casually with younger family members curious to play the game with big brother, which is whats happened in my case.
I Guess I don’t understand how I benifit exp wise from a less skilled player on my team . I guess we’ll have to give up multi player which sucks he really enjoyed it.

Similar boat here, I like to play oddball or other objective games with my wife online. I wasn’t aware that this happens, but it is unfortunate. Who cares if someone xp boosts? I mean I grew up with CE and halo 2, never did I worry about boosting for xp.
Maybe he or she should get some kills and not sit around. Now take the ban and stop complaining you got caught boosting EXP. I’ve seen enough threads like this to see you got caught red handed now wait it out. BTW they made custom games used that to play with a guest not matchmaking and ruin the experience for everyone else to.

Which is fine, except in the case we WEREN’T BOOSTING. And I could care less what type of “experience difference” everyone else will have if my little sister wants to play this video game with me. YOU and everyone else can deal with it. I’m not going to exclude her. And I’ll play whatever the hell multiplayer gametype I want to, because thats my freedom of choice.
Besides, it was in Flood, which is basically free for all anyway.
Review the games he was playing, and he got kills. I understand you think everyone is guilty and caught red handed on the fourms. But if I were just boosting why did we keep playing after the ban? If I was just boosting why keep going when Ican’t gain more exp. Now i know you can’t check on a ban, the adms can and its to them I am directing this post.

Thanks I dropped a post there, sadly I am not hopefull of a response nor a fix to their detection system. Itseems like alot of the posts were from people in the same place.
