Why did Halsey's [SPOILER]?

I mean like Its a bullet I don’t think it was a must to get cut her arm and also the bullet was on her shoulder which still is there so why?

Kind offtopic

She wants revenge she very smart I bet she is gonna be a pain thanks to S.Palmer >.>
Also I bet on Halo 5 or 6 Mcheif will be sent to kill halsey or something like that .

Thats why Halo 5 will be dark or something like that

Its because elites operate with energy swords!

> Its because elites operate with energy swords!

this.

Jul had her arm removed as punishment for her giving the other half of the Janus Key to Spartan Thorne, and by proxy, the UNSC.

It almost looks as if the Elites cut off her entire arm and that that piece of clothing is simply still there hence the blood and bullet.

> Jul had her arm removed as punishment for her giving the other half of the Janus Key to Spartan Thorne, and by proxy, the UNSC.

Is this just an assumption or a confirmed fact?

I’m sure when everything works out she’ll grow an arm or get a prosthetic.

Jul did say that Halsey should be lucky he didn’t leave her there to bleed to death, so it could be possible.

To be honest I highly doubt it though, I simply think it’s the way the Elites had to deal with a wounded Human. It’s probably the first time they had to help a Human.

> Jul had her arm removed as punishment for her giving the other half of the Janus Key to Spartan Thorne, and by proxy, the UNSC.

She should get revenge from the UNSC and from the Storm.

Because on Sanghelios, being a doctor is considered being one of the lowest life-forms ever as an Elite.

They don’t practice medicine like us humans do. Elites are barbaric when it comes to that.

It did seem pretty damn strange. Elites must have terrible doctors.

“Hey I have a headache!”
“Then we’re going to have to take this leg I’m afraid. Hold still.”

I’m sure she’ll get a bionic arm at some point.

Well to quote the exchange between Jul and Halsey:

Jul - “You gave the other half to your compatriots”
Halsey - “That was before I knew my compatriots were a hit squad, not a rescue team. Not that I fared much better in your care”
Jul - “After your betrayal, you are lucky I did not let you bleed to death.”
Halsey - “The UNSC just tried to execute me, so you’ll need to offer something other than idle threats if you want me to help you.”
Jul - “What is it you desire?”
Halsey - “That’s easy, Jul. I want revenge”

From that, take this line “After your betrayal, you are lucky I did not let you bleed to death.”, and Halsey’s mention of idle threats, and it seems to heavily support the fact that Jul had her whole arm removed rather as a merciful punishment, but a punishment none-the-less. Though Halsey knows that it’s not enough for him to gain total control over her.

Edit: going by what a poster above said and what I now remember from the books, doctor’s were one of the lowest classes in Sangheili culture, as most Sangheili would rather die honourably than be aided by someone who profits off pain and dishonour. In the end, it seems a bit 50/50 in the whole matter, but the dialog does allude to it being a punishment to some degree.

> I’m sure when everything works out she’ll grow an arm or get a prosthetic.

She will get one only if she returns to the UNSC cuz I don’t see the covenant making a metal arm for her instead on the UNSC she could get something like Cat’s

Wait, when was it said that being a doctor is considered one of the lowest life-forms?

In our world, being a doctor is one of the best jobs you could have.

I assumed it was because her arm needed to be amputated.

They believe dieing in battle is glory. So living to fight another day isn’t a priority of theirs.

In the Flood a group of grunts took the wounded elite back to the ship. someone had to cure him.

It’s mostly from the books. The Sangheili would rather die honourably than be aided by their doctors, as there’s no honour in seeking help from those who profit from pain and seek no honour of their own. That’s the basic gist of it that I remember from the books.

God, I love the Sangheilli now. Next time I hit my toe I’m going to visit the Elites!
