okay so during halo 2 they figured out hey sprint breaks our game it doesn’t belong in halo idea trash. then comes halo 4 we can make sprint work ex bungie personnel pull it out of the trash can ex bungie people ‘‘this didn’t work the first time" 343 " it’ll be fine what’s the worst that can happen’’ (halo 4 flops in fact so badly that during its prime more people played halo 3) Microsoft ‘’ your game sucks what happened ‘’ 343 ''I don’t know our group test said people liked sprint didn’t want playable eleits and we wanted it where you had to read a book to understand the story ‘’ ex bungie thought silently maybe if our group test wasn’t completely made out of people who hated halo and cod players ) halo comes around 343 still want sprint ex bungie person says he wants to be in halo wars 2 gets told no 3 days before release ex bungie person finds new job mentions only being in the team that made halos 1through 3 quit at 4 didn’t know about 5
Wot? M8, you realize that you don’t have to accommodate anything besides an inherent disadvantage to balance out the speed increase right?
Sprint already is balanced.
Use periods, please.
Bungie brought on sprint in Halo Reach. 343 was just continuing where Bungie left off. And I’ve never had a issue with it. Even in Halo Reach.

Halo Reach was one of the most hated Halo games (I liked Reach btw), if they were smart they would have gone back to the classic Halo gameplay, but instead they chose to continue with the least popular formula in the franchise, now the community is damaged worse than ever before and will likely never be repaired.

Most hated? Not really, it’s still populated to this day, I almost never have trouble finding a match.

That still doesn’t change the fact that it was one of the most hated Halo games. There are plenty of people who love it, but there are plenty of people who hate it as well.

But it wasn’t, Halo 4 was, population drop was steep.
The fact that Reach being made in 2010 is more populated than Halo 4 says it’s generally not hated.
I hate Halo 3’s guts, but as far as I can tell, it was given mostly positive reception.
That’s precisely why anecdotal evidence is useless though, our personal experiences don’t give any weight to arguments.
Every time I go into MCC and play H2 I think about how desperately it needed sprint. I played a matchmade game of snipers and kept spawning out in the open with cover close by but it took forever to get to it and I died a lot. I also played a custom game the other day with a friend in H2A and the game ended 24 to 25 because we kept spawning in the open and couldn’t sprint to cover.

I think that’s just a failing on 343’s part with spawns, H2 was fine without sprint, you were fast enough to justify not being there, as for Halo 3, your character moved like an bug drowning in amber.

I said one of the most hated, yes H4 is hated more, but like I said Halo Reach is ONE of the most hated, along with ODST, H4, and H5.
I think they ded it to make the gameplay faster and more intense.

This isn’t about what Halo was hated the most, it’s about what Halos were hated in general by a significant amount of people, Reach was among the hated. Halos CE to Halo 3 were very well received by the majority of the Halo community, so much so that a lot of people would rather a Halo 3 clone than 343’s style of Halo. (Side note) Numbers may not lie, but companys do, 343 and Microsoft don’t have to tell us the population numbers, when they do they often stretch the truth, the only people they have to give the actual numbers to are their investors.

But you can’t quantify hate, we also have the old numbers. We know Reach is above or at the very least the same level of people as MCC, and we know Halo 5 isn’t Halo 4 levels of dead, not even close it would seem.
You are right about 343 being shady keeping the population numbers to themselves, but we can infer that Halo 5 has a longer standing community than Halo 4 or at least a better matchmaking system, which would in turn mean if the former is correct that Halo 5 isn’t hated. With all Halo 5’s criticism, the only 2 things I see on that front the most are people who think 343’s writing is terrible (myself included) and dinosaurs who think halo should stay in 2007.
But Dinosaurs have always been apart of the halo community, they’re a vocal minority, else Halo would be dead, forgive me if I’m unfairly grouping these sorts of people but the hate generated by them has always been apparent and more so insignificant.

Unfortunately not, as I’m on mobile as well. It’s a link to a wpns grade video that touches on the subject we are talking about, however he has a few videos that strengthen my argument, you should check him out or at the very least his last 3 videos
Does it really matter tbh.
People got upset about H2s changes to the gameplay from CE and the same happened to H3. The art style isn’t that big of a deal because the way things are designed these days are different than they were a long time ago, e.g. the muscle cars of the 70s and 80s are generally considered better looking than the ones today.

With all Halo 5’s criticism, the only 2 things I see on that front the most are people who think 343’s writing is terrible (myself included) and dinosaurs who think halo should stay in 2007.

I’ll check that out later then.
