Why did 343 Sacrifice Splitscreen for 60FPS?

This is something I’ll never understand. We as longtime Halo players never cared about 60fps so sacrificing splitscreen(which made Halo so popular and made its population so astronomically high)for a feature we never even cared about basically wiped out a large part of the potential population(that we never even get to see in game when we should)for Halo 5.

Also why is that 343 also went with Dedicated Servers for Halo 5 instead of LAN or the stuff past Halo games used in the past?(I can’t remember if it had something to do with the Xbox One and if it is, then Microsoft better fix it with the Scorpio) Because of that we can’t even play Custom Games or even Forge offline with our buddies if we want to. Hell even the Modding Community(the guys who would have mods in their own lobbies and play with other modders or just show players modded maps)can’t even have fun because of the Dedicated Servers in Halo 5. When I see all of this, I just can’t help but think, why did 343 have to do all of this when it wasn’t necessary? All they had to do really was use formulas from past Halos games that Bungie left them and add some new things to make it interesting and see what Halo 5 would have to offer. Halo 5’s potential is nigh endless and it feels like 343 isn’t really taking advantage of it. It also doesn’t help that they don’t communicate with the community as much to see what they want like Bungie did(Bravo does but he can only do so much by himself). I just want Halo 5 to be the best Halo it can be.

60 FPS is pretty much a standard in modern day gaming. If you don’t have it, then the game becomes really laggy and you can’t play it as well. I think I heard they took out SS cause they wanted 60fps no matter what, so the visuals and stuff would remain the same at all times. It’s sad, but it is a modern trend that is a top priority in most developer’s eyes.

Thats a damn shame too. Look at Halo 4. It had amazing visuals and graphics. Even superior to that of Halo 5 but because 343 decided to sacrifice splitscreen and quality graphics, Halo 5’s visuals at times(especially when it comes to certain bases)look pretty plasticy.

What sucks even more is that they could’ve kept 60FPS and Splitscreen. All they’d have to do is drop it down to 30FPS when people use splitscreen. I think it was the same with past Halos like 3 and reach as well. The FPS would drop the more people were in splitscreen,
