Why did 343 remove dual wielding

title really says it all, why was dual wielding removed from halo 4 and 5? i always enjoyed it during halo 2 and halo 3.
----------------------------------------------------EDIT----------------------------------------------------
Any one who is replying with “bungie removed it in reach” just stop the first reply to this thread said it no need to keep saying it. Also like i said in a post below reach was before halo 2 and 3 which had dual wielding, so when it wasn’t in reach it made sense cause it wasn’t in halo CE. Anyways dual wielding IMO was fun while playing lone wolves in halo 3 so was just wondering why it was removed for the future halos.
Bungie “removed” it from reach, a game before all the other halos
343i didn’t include it from halo 3, they took over halo 4. so by me saying why did 343 remove it i feel my statement is still true.
i just wanted to know why it was removed.

Bungie removed dual wielding first, not 343.

Bungie actually removed in in H:R first
just sayin
Altho if I’m not mistaken they had a canonic reason why they removed it
I believe they said the SIII armour was not capable of dual wield

I out BR’d you.

Being able to dual wield just made it so that the weapons sucked on their own when not dual wielded.

It’s better this way.

It was removed in Reach, I think you mean why wasn’t it included. I like dual wielding but I reckon their reasoning was, in order to balance it you have to nerf the weapons. plus there aren’t that many dual wield weapons in halo 5, with the plasma rifle being swapped with the storm rifle. it’s the magnum and the bolt shot that I can think of off the top of my head.

well reach was before halo 2 and 3 story wise so i mean it didn’t really phase me that it wasn’t in reach

This. in CE the plasma rifle as great on it’s own, but in H2/H3 weapons like that and the pistol were awful, and became useless unless dual wielding with an SMG.

that would make sense, as long as it was legit reasoning not just meh lets not have it

343 could bring it back in a future update tough?
I mean I dont know if they could do it because of programming and nerds stuff

They most likely won’t as it would mess with the game balance a lot. As has been mentioned already.

Take the SMG (H5), it shreds anyone to pieces soooo fast. Imagine having two? Simply put: Broken.

It would be fun to have it as an armour mod in Warzone though.

Not really. Even if they could, I highly doubt they will.

Bungie adds Dual-wielding in Halo 2, realizes that it’s too weak as a single and too strong as a dual, removes it.
Bungie adds Equipment (Bubble Shield, Energy Drain, Health Regen) realizes that it slows action down and doesn’t enhance gameplay any, removes it.
I think for Reach it was Armor abilities as pickups… ah another dumb thing removed.

Don’t worry the trend will continue haha. But, Halo 5 is actually pretty good though. Maybe the Spartan Charge will be removed next, who knows.

in h2 they dident have it so if you had 2 you did 2 time the damage , it was only like 1+0,5 or somthing like that

People always seem to forget that.

And? Just bring it back in. Don’t see the point in pointing this out, as its not really an excuse for 343 as to why it haven’t been in the last two games. It’s not like Bungie set these sacred laws in stone as to what Halo is to play out like from Reach forward.

It was too difficult to balance properly. It created combos that were over powered, or weapons that couldn’t be used on their own.

Yep, never forget the Halo 2 and Halo 3 pistol. Useless alone.
