this guy has never played a game with a separate team chat and all chat and it shows
I have actually. Counter-Strike Source.
Maybe explain what you mean next time?
then how in gods earth did you not remember that its possible to have a separate team chat and all chat so that you don’t expose your callouts to the opponent
Because all chat wasn’t a thing in Halo up until now?
Voice chat was automatically separated in team-oriented games.
i don’t see why it matters if it wasn’t a thing in halo up until now if there is no reason it can’t be. Moot point
Meaning, nobody had to go and tweak menu setting to allow or disallow all chat considering they didn’t exist until now.
The only game I’ve played that had those settings would be CS:S. A PC game.
I play halo on console like I have for 15+ years. so I dont care about being able to type to the other team.
proximity chat can be hilarious though. bring that back
Right, but that doesn’t have any bearing on halo, now in the present day, being able to receive such a simple feature. Nothing about the differences between pc and console make console incompatible with a separate all chat and team chat
I’m not arguing for the restriction. I didn’t know what OP was talking about because he was so vague in what he meant.
I’m fine with an all chat option.
ok gotcha, there was a miscommunication
It looks like my mic has the “muted” symbol next to it for the entire game even though my settings are wide open. So i was thinking that no one could hear me.
In this topic, we watch a bunch of people responsible for a feature getting removed wonder why a feature got removed without a hint of irony.
Literally every online PvP game has a separate chat for everyone/team.
Did Halo 5 even have text chat to begin with?
Haven’t played on a console in like half a decade but from what I can tell most of the time console only games don’t even have text chat.
How are you going to tell me I missed the point when you don’t even know what I’m talking about?
You can go get a console and find out yourself if they have it.
Missed the point because everyone/team chat is almost always separated. Can’t think of a single competitive game where text chat is always output to everyone.
“Why did 343 remove chat with all players?” is the title of the post.
I’m no english major, but I think the question was “Why did 343 limit chat to your team instead of including everyone on the other team as well?”
Maybe the OP should be a little more clearer about what he’s asking about? Or maybe you should go ask the OP what he means?
I understood it pretty easily. Text chat in MCC has both ALL and TEAM chat so you’re able to communicate with everyone in the game. Why was this feature not carried over to Infinite?
If we go back even further the earlier Halo titles even had proximity chat so you could hear people on the other team if you were close enough. Obviously this wasn’t carried over because no one really uses in game voice chat anymore.
Looking through this forum it seems like everybody else also understood it.
Nah I simply pointed out what you seemed to miss and you took it personally.
You’re one to talk about taking things personally.
