Just wondering why they didn’t. 343 could have just build the suit she has on halo 5 on top of the existing high poly model, slightly tweak the old low poly halo 4 mesh and uv/bake the maps for the new body. Instead of spending more time on making a new one.
I think she looked her best in H4, shame they changed her up again.
Her face is pretty scary, mainly in the last scene with her lol.

Yeah, by Halo 6 she’d look like a proper villain, then somehow MC finds a fragment of OG Cortana with her normal look and together they take down iso-cortana.

Yeah… H5 Cortana is like a crazy stalker ex-girlfriend. I hope they can find a fragment of not coo-coo Cortana lying around in a databank somewhere.
Because they don’t like consistency. Lol.
Every Halo has changed her appearance and she looks more like Halsey than ever which could be an indicator that her moral compass is totally broken much like her creator.
Keep in mind that in the lore, AIs can change their appearance basically at will. So if 343 wants to change her appearance to highlight the change in her personality, they have a built in reason to do so.
Also, did anyone else catch the little Spartan-ish bits of her new form? Maybe as an attempt to be more like John?
I also don’t like her new look in Halo 5. In Halo 4 she looked amazing. Her face and mimics were fantastic and very natural… and of course she was very cute. But in Halo 5, I don’t know, she is little bit too robotic in her facial expressions, and her face looks weird. Briefly, Cortana in Halo 4 looks more advenced and natural then in Halo 5.
When we come to Cortana’s model, in Halo 4 343 used face model of two women. First girl is Paisha Coffey and the second one is Lani Blazier. If you analyze Cortana’s face from Halo 4, you can see how 343 used Lani’s face as the main model, and then they put Paisha’s mouth on Lani’s face model. To me, result is wonderful… Beautiful, innocent and untained… Just amazing how they achieved that result. All of this is credited at the end of game.
When we come to question why 343 didn’t use H4 Cortana model in H5, well there is fan fact which one is very preposterous. If you look into Halo 5 credits at the end of game, you will see how Paisha and Lani are credited for Cortana’s face model again. Which is absurd, because as you all saw, Cortana from Halo 5 doesn’t look even close to Paisha or Lani. So if you want my opinion as the answer to this question, I thing that 343 was too lazy to make things right, or whoever was responsible for Cortana’s face modeling, he or she didn’t even look what is Cortana looked like in Halo 4.

I haven’t finished the campaign so I haven’t really seen her yet but maybe they changed her looks to show her going rampant a little more.
It was probably to convey that fact that she’s literally changed. By making her look different, it sort of represents that she isn’t the Cortana we once knew.
its because H5 has a T rating…in H4 she was way hotter but since they are targeting 12-15yr olds so I think they had to change her look.

I think “laziness” is quite a logical leap to make here.
I was gonna make a T rating joke but decided not to. Heh.
I appears 343 got less cash to spend on cutscenes because of SOps was a failure.
I think the only scenes that are complete Blur creation were the Avengers beginning, maybe the fight, and the ending scenes.
The rest i think used the Halo engine because all the faces look different. Halsey looked weird, Palmer, and Laskey.
The Halsey from the opening cutscene where she is talking Cortana does not look at all like the Halsey from the Jul fight.
Like someone mentioned in each halo she is different so I wasn’t really surprised this time around

Which always confuses me.
I liked her promethean armor and how she had black hair n stuff. It’s clear she made herself look more human but they could have kept Mackenzie’s face, or brought her in again. 
tbh cortana has annoyed me ever since halo 3 where she keeps slowing the gameplay down. then in 4 she was just stupid. she looked great, but was stupid.
glad we can now class her as a villain
