Why did 343 decide to make halo 5 so unbalanced?

In every game mode, social, ranked, warzone, everything. Besides the fact this game is truly sweaty, it’s also too unbalanced, it seems like the beginning of almost every match is decided within 3 minutes of having started. I agree that happens from time to time, but I don’t remeber any other halo game so unbalanced like Halo 5.

What exactly is unbalanced? Your post is incredibly vague. Could you please elaborate?

I think the weapons are pretty well balanced, same goes for the vehicle.
Most of the maps are also balanced,soI dont see your problem.

If by “Unbalanced”, you mean some players are better than others, then I completely agree. How dare 343 put me in games with people who may or may not be better than me. How is that balanced, right?

This.

But maybe OP refers to unbalanced matchmaking that pitches him against way higher skill levels.

In any case, to me this is maybe the most balanced Halo.

No, I think I understand what OP means.

It doesn’t matter who the better player is, or who has the better connection, it’s almost as if the game itself has decdided who will win before the match even starts. Not to mention the weapons are incredibly broken, even after the patch comes out H5 still has the least balanced sandbox in the franchise. I have figured out why this is. Due to 343 “hyper balancing” everything for the comp players, it actually unbalanced everything because it sped things up too much. People don’t like H5 because it really doesn’t feel like a Halo game. Halo games are supposed to be fun, laid back, tactical, not being constantly sweaty.

Pretty much every thread he/she makes is incredibly vague and rarely expanded on.

I completely disagree with Halo 5 being unbalanced. I play ranked exclusively and over time this game has only gotten more and more balanced thanks to Dr. Menke and his team. After looking at your game history your last few ranked matches looked pretty well matched. You are a Diamond in Slayer and Team Arena, and you were matched with other Diamonds and Onyx players. Sound like the system is working to me.

The social playlist have expanded matchmaking, but it still isn’t unbalanced.

You can filter your games by using the Search preferences. Make it focused so that you would be matched with people who are around the same skill level as you.

I have to say that 343 has been very successful when it comes into making Halo 5 as balanced as it can possibly be. This do also include player skill as the game takes how skilled the player is when it comes to searching games which means it’s much rarer that you see a game where 1 team get totally destroyed.

Don’t forget that player skill is extremely difficult to calculate as it’s so many factor that player skill are dependent on like how used the player are to the controls, aiming, maps, gamemode ect.

I think 343 has done an amazing job balancing warzone, but when it comes to arena i think the whole tuning test was a bit extreme the br is only overpowered cause of its long RRR and if they reduced that it would be more up to skill, and maybe put a bit more spread on the smg. Those are the few minor problems in my opinion… and please… no spread like the br in tuning test that is just so broken… watch Aozolais video if you dont believe me.

I think the game is balanced, but since new abilities were added, I am terrible at the game.

I think this is the most balanced FPS on console I have ever played. Maybe OP your just to good? lol

Wow, we have completely opposite memories and opinions of what Halo games used to be/are supposed to be.

Yea, Halo has always been fun, but it’s also been in the top 3 competitive feeling game franchises I’ve ever played. Since Halo CE LANs, and since Halo 2 matchmaking hit xbox live, Halo MP has always felt super competitive and “sweaty” to me.

Maybe you’ve gotten better at the game over time, and so now you get ranked high enough to play against people who play with a more competitive mindset and with higher skill.

My personal opinion about Halo 5’s balance is that it has the most balanced weapon and vehicle franchise Halo’s history. Over a given week of play, I use virtually every weapon in the game in both Arena and a Warzone. I also never feel disadvantaged solely because of the weapon combo I have.

In my opinion the game is well balanced, since I play solo I hate only when you find a very well organized (and full of REQs) team in warzone that makes simply unplayable the match

The core arena modes are great though!
Nearly ever covenant weapon is viable.
The Forerunner weapons now have a more creative, and viable homing mechanic, and everything is built to work well under skilled circumstance.
I’d go so far as to say the arena balance is greatest as it’s been!

Warzone though, yeah I’m totally with you.
That’s not to say it isn’t “That gamemode” that you never play because everyone hates it.

Arena though, If I’m not mistaken, a lot of weapons, (Excluding the plasma pistol) are part of or near the meta!
All covenant weapons you wouldn’t think of touching in the old games work a lot better now, meaning that most weapons on the table are worth your time!
Be it supressor, not necessarily meta but can definitely catch people off guard when your gun does half the aiming for you, in exchange for bad damage.
Melee weapons are like their supposed to be, except for the hammer having lunge!
UNSC weapons always been great, and Forerunner are finally put in between viable and casual with their homing capabilities and certain reworked recoil, charge, and lazer weaponry like the Incineration, Light, and Binary.

We’re in a much better place than we’ve been and that’s one of the few things I can give to 343 right now.
Maybe it’s built for casual players? Cause I’m loving this ‘All-Library Viability’!

I don’t play ranked, it’s garbage. I play to have fun not to stroke my ego.

I play ranked AND have fun, even though im not great at it. SWAT is my favorite playlist.

No company makes their game unbalanced on purpose. And tbh the game is arena focused so everything is essentially balanced if everyone learns to use the same thing. And I don’t everyone is sweaty now don’t get me wrong there are sweaty players but I feel the average population is ok at the game so when they find someone who’s better which isn’t uncommon they are automatically labeled sweaty. There’s a different between sweaty and just plain good at the game. Just because someone tries to win that doesn’t make them sweaty. The problem in my eyes is halo 5 has a low populations compared to the other halo games or other games. Which leads to long wait times and encountering someone who’s a couple tiers higher than you when it comes to skill. It happens to me I get over it

OP, if you want actual discussions, you need to provide better posts. Vague posts and then never returning to explain don’t help.
