So? Just don’t use them if you don’t want to. If something doesn’t look right to you, just don’t use it. Why do you have to gatekeep just because YOU don’t want to see something in a PUBLIC game
You can’t use a Helmet from one set of Mjolnir Gen III on another set of Mjolnir Gen III? Remember, MK V [B] isn’t really the armor you had in Reach, it’s literally the same type of armor as MK VII.

At the very least we should have colors and visors available cross core
No cross cores is a negative to the store itself and player expression. As you see store items could are restricted to a core. Most coatings are restricted to a core unless 343 copies them to all the cores like the HCS skins which that takes up space. The core system hurts the store since maybe you like an item for sale in the store but oh no its not on the core you use/like. Guess I won’t buy the Purrfect Audio or Pineapple Grenades then since its on the core with no armor. Why get things out of the cash shop if their restricted to cores that I don’t like or have nothing in. Its a restricting system that both hurts player expression and SELLING THINGS IN THE CASH SHOP. YOU LISTENING MARKETING TEAM or 343i dev that could bring this up to marketing/management to change the system.
Clipping has always happen. Halo 3 the Katana, Halo Reach some shoulders clipped, and MCC any back item. People don’t care that much about clipping it happens.
Cores were a dump idea because its a restriction to the player. Let the player have all the armor pieces so they could recreate Jorge, Kat, Linda, and so on. The only thing that would make sense for Cores if they were different bipeds (models). A Spartan core, a Elite core, Marine core, and a Brute core. That would make sense for restricting the player since each core would have had different bipeds and would break if those cross cored. But we got 3 spartans of the same height and biped making the cores a restriction on Spartans.
Everyone looks mostly the same across the game except for the one guy that has everything unlock. People looking weird has always been there since Halo 3 ie Hayabusa or the pilot skull helmet or the weird items we have in infinite or most likely will get in infinite if the leaks are true.
I have stated that should have done a Reach style CR system but add that you could purchase CR (like purchasing ingame money like GTA V Online). Then you could have had all armor, attachments, colors, etc be bought with CR that was earn in game through regular games, challenges, or bought from the store. Whales would buy CR to buy up all the armor (so new season armor drops) while free players can play and save to buy what they want. A more streamline UI system could be made, the store could still sell AI, armor effects, weapon/vehicle attachments and CR for money. And everyone would be some what happy.

I agree with your last point whole heartedly. If 343i or anyone is worried about us looking goofy with cross core customization, maybe just have cross core tied to what’s lore friendly and what isn’t. Meaning MK V, MK VII, and other future in-universe cores able to be mixed and matched where applicable, while fracture cores being interchangeable with fracture cores only.
I’ll gladly take whatever cross core version we get, though. Anything that furthers player expression is a thumbs up from me.

KevinKoolx’s video made those points as well. All I wish to say in response is that the armor cores concepts was created so that 343 can make more revenue. How else could they sell the color blue multiple times?
Actually, I wish to say something else in response to his comments about Spartans looking “meh”. How does limiting armor pieces to a particular core increase customization? “meh” to me is all the spartans looking basically the same depending on which armor core a player selects.
Side note, a Spartan with armor pieces from multiple cores (arbitrary concept) could have a really sick back story. Especially with the fight against the Created (lore wise), the UNSC would be scrounging for gear and mixing armor pieces if that’s what was available.

That first point is everything. Opening up customization, even just a little bit, will rake in more cash for them. The cash shop is extremely stunted with its current design (timed “daily” shop items), but that’s a whole other conversation.
Clipping is a weak argument on 343i’s part. If the clipping on say the chest attachments are really badly, then I can understand, but like most have said, there is already clipping on the armor we currently have.

Did you mean to reply to someone else? You start off by no, and then stating why cross cross core is good. But my whole post was talking about the same thing.
It’s probably because you said they don’t need to make everything cross-core.

Edit: The way the customization is set up, with each core having a platform tells me someone used immersion as an excuse for the design of the customization system.
Modders have already shown it’s in the programing, 343 just needs to turn it on.
They had no intention of turning it on. This exact thing we shouldn’t just ask for it, but Let 343 know we discovered it’s in the game and they are just holding it back.
So cats out the bag 343 just release it already and get it over with, don’t hold it back as some form of new content. It’s not new just locked away from the regular playerbase.

Yup just look at Scarlet wake, Scarlet Skies and Scarlet Empress red… All the same color but sold in separate bundles locked to each core.

I agree about the majority of unlocks being cross core. Some of my colors would look awesome on different armor but alas I cant use it.

Right on, I absolutely agree. At the very minimum, I think helmets, visors, shoulders, and coatings should be cross-core.

lets just say we dont need it YET I mean we have only 3 cores at the moment and the only one that would get lots of love are mk v and mk vii I dont think the yoroi armor would work well on them besides the section is kinda small for the full use of cross core adn folks would proably rarely use it (aside form visors and coatings) now once we Gert say 5 or 6 cores then we may see more use of it
There really is no reason to not need it yet, why hold out a feature that’s simply locked to us. There are items and colors from both the reach and new core that I would love to mix and match. Not to mention the attachments that Shotgun wrist bullet and chest peices would like nice on my Newer MK 7 core right about now.
Yea Waiting for more cores when everyone’s wanting it already, that would be a poor move who cares if just two cores get all the love. Let the players have the option to make that choice. Besides we already know thanks to modders it’s in the games code it’s just locked away from us

That’s even more reason to combine the cores really.
If we’re going to get cores with only a few armor pieces, why keep the cores separate?

Right like dude that shotgun chest peices would look amazing on my MK7 there’s hardly any nice leg attachments and wrist attachments for the new core.
Add cross core and that would be fixed. But they are purposely holding it back from us.
Modders already proved it’s in the games code. We all know it’s there, they may as well just activate it for us. But I assume they are trying to figure out how to heavily monetize us once they unleash that feature
