Why is this a bad thing? Every time I get on these forums, one person say " But We N3Eds t0 H@ves Equ4l Gam3pl4y!!!"
Well doesn’t this pretty much even out the playing field? I’ll give you an example.
Veteran player- Player A
Rookie- Player B
Halo as it is now:
Player A knows where every weapon spawns on this map and what times they are given. He goes for the power weapons and digitally rapes Player B, who knows nothing of this map.
Weapon drops:
Player A cannot accurately predict where weapons will drop and their timing. Player B has the same issue. They are both at equal fields with this. This creates equal gameplay.
Basically 343i gives us what we want and we throw it back into their face? Common guys.
Besides let’s just think of a regular game. The other team has the advantage. They are at you base with their vehicles tearing you a new one. Instead of the rockets spawning in the middle, which would be damn near impossible to get amongst the fire, it drops near your base away from the enemy. You charge for the rockets and push the enemy back and you get back into a fighting chance. This would make for more funner and challenging games.
I do not see a problem with this.
I agree that the weapon drops is great but i dont know how it will work on forge maps.
well the better player is better and as a casual myself weapon spawns are easy to remember so if you are 100xs better at the game then don’t you deserve to win
> I agree that the weapon drops is great but i dont know how it will work on forge maps.
Maybe you can set it to drop or just spawn normally?
Looking at the timer and remembering when the weapon will spawn isnt hard.A person that just bought the game shouldnt win over the person that has been playing for years because the drop pod randomly decided to drop beside them.
I dont mind weapon drops. There might be a small chance it will karma kill someone and i look forward to watching that moment.

What? How would this be fair?
I think that the new weapon drop/spawn will still be controllable. But I think it still gives a chance to the newer players.
What you don’t see is the incentive to play and get better is decreased. If a vet player is dominating it is because he has earned the knowledge and skill to dominate. 343i is just offering a shortcut for slow players with no direction to get an undeserved advantage. There’s no feeling of satisfaction from having perfect timing. Just relief that you luckily got to the PW before someone else did. Halo used to be about skill, now it’s just about luck.

Why are so many people against learning spawns for weapons and timing them? This is a bad decision, it takes 5 minutes to learn where everything spawns by going into forge flying around and checking everything or you could actually ask teammates and communicate with them. Why should veteran players be punished because newer players can’t take the time to learn to actually play the game?
I would hate to lose the game because some drop happened on the other side of the map where the other team spawned.
I really hope this idea is just in testing and gets scrapped. Though if it does go through to final build I hope it’s limited to the new FFA Regicide or action sack type playlists or others that wouldn’t screw with Team based playlists.

That’s not the point I’m making. I totally agree. I am saying that we ask for equal gameplay and 343 gives it to us and we hate them for it.

If there is a 1-50 ranking system then the veterans wouldnt have to play the casuals/newer players.
Problem solved.
what you have said is not entirely true. If person A and B spawn in bases on their respective sides often each team will have their own power weapons.
Usually both sides have sniper rifles, shotguns and BRs
And if they don’t then Team A can reach power weapon A first but team B can reach power weapon B first.
Furthermore if there is a weapon in the middle of the map (which is often the rocket launcher) you have to fight for it which takes skill.
It will be interesting to see how this ‘random spawning’ works especially in forge

Nothing about Halo 4 will be equal.Have you read any of the news? Have you played any of the past halos?(Besides pathetic Reach)? You shouldnt try to fix what is not broken because a few players are too lazy to take the time and effort to learn how to play the game.
It’s different so that’s why they hate it.
The weapon spawn points aren’t random, it’s the weapon it’s self that is random. And believe it or not, this feature has already been in all the halo’s, you can change the custom games settings to make weapons on map random. 343i are just making it specifically for some power weapons.

No its unbalanced and stupid as -Yoink-.Thats why we hate it.

Which will take the whole competitive feel away from Halo.
High five to you.
