Just because you have played Halo for a longer period of time than the average Halo player gives you NO RIGHTS whatsoever. Enough people requested updates and 343 obliged. The average Reach player won’t even notice any changes implemented and the so called ‘casual’ Halo player makes up the majority. If gametypes such as MLG could ever have a population above 2000 then maybe 343 would listen to your same old tryhard opinions.
Seriously, the elitist attitude of the ‘competitive player’ bores me. It seems that many people have lost sight of what it means to have FUN in a videogame. Half the people on here and B.net must not even like Halo judging by the amount of hate threads.
There is nothing that can be done about Reach, it has no trueskill and no real ranking system. These cannot be implemented. There is no quick fix for Reach so just be happy with what we’ve got. There’s always H3 if you want a symbol on the internet saying you R da bestest at a videogame!!!

There is more to life than Halo, stop being so butthurt and quit being a keyboard warrior, no-one cares about your opinions.

An NBA player and a guy who played basketball in high school are offering you advice. Who are you more inclined to listen to? Those who have played for a long time generally have a better understanding of the game.

You harp on competitive players for being elitist yet feel your definition of fun is more important than others. Hypocritical much?

Same useless sentiment spewed a million times before. You’ve got no point here. Why shouldn’t we attempt to make Reach a better game? Constructive criticism can only be good.

You cared enough to ramble on for a few paragraphs about how the opinions of others are faulty. If anyone was butthurt it would appear to be you.

casual players could care less about the settings.
competitive players care a lot about the settings.
so, being the genius you are, who do you make the game for?
The settings as they originally existed will not make you a better FPS player. The opposite in fact. Everything is a crutch in Halo Reach. Accept it. Relying on a crutch takes away the emphasis upon improving FPS fundamentals of shooting, strafing and map positioning.
. Sprint allows you to run away when you should die. Encourages double pummel instead of shooting - FPS, not FPMelee
. Armor Lock allows you more time to do stupid things like EMP beatdown when you should be dead as the other player had you beaten
. Jet Pack destroys map control
. Invisibility breaks the requirement to fight over a major powerup
So playing more teaches you what you should be learning. Come to a game where these skills are important and you will get smoked because you failed to appreciate what mattered.
Forget it, actually keep the crappy mechanics because I’ll keep abusing those who can’t get the fundamentals right and have a ratio of 1.11 and have 5,000 Rejection medals thinking they’re good because they’re positive.

Only a fraction of Bungie.net users spend their time in the Halo Reach forum. Truthfully, there are many, MANY people who enjoy it. Most choose not to partake in the “REACH IS BAD!” type of threads, and others just simply dont go out saying “Yep I like Halo Reach” for a simple reason too. Theres really no point to.
The honest truth is there is a LARGE number of people who enjoy playing this amazing game! Youll just mainly hear the rambunctious players who do have a “problem”. As they will be the ones who voice their opinion the most. So dont start to despair just yet. Sorry, just thought Id clear that up a bit.
Now to actually make a useful reply. You must understand that video games can be someones passion. They want to constantly improve what they enjoy doing to enjoy it MOAR! I think most people complain to give their “2 cents” and in a way, request the “right” thing to do.

> I really wish people would understand that the better player should win. That isn’t the case with Reach.
well, its not really an issue that the better player should win. its more of an issue that the person who PERFORMS better should win encounters.
generally speaking, the better players will still win the game.
