Why complain about active camo?

Seriously I have to know, why do so many people complain about it?

After a session today I killed several “invisible” players who thought they were being crafty. They’re easy to see, honestly how is this armor ability a problem?

I’m on Ragnarok and all the way from my base I can see the rippling effect of a camo user camping out on the little ledge opposite of Pelican side in the center of the map. Started DMR-ing him and he freaked, didn’t know what to do and I took him out before he could scramble back to cover.

A couple of games later I’m on Haven and I’m running along the top circular hallway and across the way I see a camo kid sitting there next to the pillars waiting, thinking he’s completely invisible. I play along and run right next to him and stick his face. He jumps backwards and explodes in mid-air.

Plus they give off those little dots that totally give them away. We played some Dominion on Longbow and while protecting B I clearly see a grouping of dots coming up from the left side of the base. I creep out onto the roof and fire a random rocket into the tunnel leading down to the base and poof the dots vanish and I have another kill. In that instance the cloaking GAVE AWAY their position, they would have been better off sneaking without it!

These guys are so easy to spot game after game, maybe I’ve seen to many Predator movies as a kid and I’m used to looking out for the wavy effect they give off? I have no idea but they’re so easy to find, it’s mind boggling why people complain so much about it.

I suppose the complainers are right, it does break the game.

FOR THE PEOPLE WHO USE IT.

Camo was terrible in Reach and today it is just as terrible, for all the legitimate reasons the community gave for years while 343 ignored everyone.

You are playing people who suck. If you are good and use camo it lets you always get the first shot in BTB, and lets you position yourself in places to snipe where you can just own if you are good with sniper.

Its incredibly overpowered, shouldn’t be an AA, and basically makes BTB against good people pure misery. People who aren’t good won’t suddenly become good from using camo though so of course you will still kill them.

I have no problem with Active camo on smaller maps but larger maps like Ragnarok? Its a whole different story.

I thought it was the consensus that camo users were “noobs” and had no skill, if you’re saying you need to have skill to use camo properly then I still don’t see the point of complaining. Any ability, weapon or vehicle can be deadly in the hands of a skilled player but you don’t see people begging for the removal of the sniper rifle or spartan laser…

If I could eyeball a camo user from half way across Ragnarok I’m sure others can too, my TV isn’t even HD. It’s an old as the hills Sony picture tube dinosaur. All abilities require some level of skill to be proficient with and all of them have some means of countering.

Even the dreaded Promethean vision has the large radar wave that tells people you have activated it. If I see someone use it I know not to run around that corner because they can see exactly where I am. It seems that people simply complain because they can.

I never notice a problem either. I have more success just normal crouch-walking then using Camo. They are really easy to see.

Skill? Its H4 LoL. You are playing with bad campers.

Most complaints probably stem from the use on maps such as BTB or because on the radar, its little blue dots instead of red.

On bigger maps, you wont see someone in active camo, whereas on smaller maps, or enclosed areas, you can spot them from a good distance.

Don’t have a problem with the AA myself, I just hate Jetpack for what it is.

I’ve never really known why people -Yoink- about stuff that everyone can start off with.

So you got beaten by a guy using camo, you can then equip it and do the same.

I really like camo, it’s great for confusing the enemy, although due to the radar messing everything up I normally just crouch and sneak instead, doesn’t alert enemies on radar but you run the risk of getting seen.

ITT I am so much better than everyone else why are you all so bad do nothing but complain.

Good to know you don’t value the opinions of other.

I guess you not at the point yet were you have to play a game were all 15 other players use camo and you dont. not fun at all.

Thank you, when you explain it like that I can totally understand. I wish more people would try to logically explain it instead of screaming and making demands.

That’s not at all what I said and you know it. I don’t think I’m better than anyone else in this game, I’m average and I’ll be the first one to say it. I can’t snipe worth a damn and sometimes I get smashed by a cooperative team. What I was saying was if I can do, anyone can, I’m nothing special. Don’t act like a jerk because you want to come off as the witty one in the thread.

It’s bad

Jet pack is bad

Why isn’t it placed along with Overshield, S boost and D boost? I’m not going to sit here and argue this out. I’ll leave it for someone else to get baited into a discussion that will leave both of you were y’all first started.

All I am asking is to be able to see people using active camo when they are crouching…

It’s because of what it takes away from the game. When AC was a power-up it promoted movement to get it and then to use it. Now it promotes camping and brings the game to a stand still.

People who use active camo should be forced to walk on thousands of pointy lego bricks, until the year 3000 comes to pass.

People gripe about every aspect of Halo that someone uses to kill them.

I can hear the calls to nerf the CE pistol because its WAY to OP if that game was released today.

The only problem I have with active camo is the glitch where the jamming effect (those little blue dots) don’t show up on the motion tracker. My buddy and I know have noticed this in several games of CTF where we are guarding the flag and an invisible guy is within 10 feet of both of us but with no jamming effect at all for either of us.

Personally I love camo and I love being stealthy (I’m not a camper and I hate the bolt shot by the way) however I did notice a very large increase in its use in halo 4 probably due the bolt shot and making it easy to camp, but if you use PV you can see the person, not through walls but when you they are in your line of sight. No one ever used active camo in reach even though you could spawn with it in most game modes I was the only one and I used it to infiltrate areas, to capture objectives, but everyone wants to be stealthy because of the bolt shot, some of those fail miserably, like yeah if you turn invisible when your right in front of me I can see. Just stuff like that, I like camo don’t think it should be nerfed only the bolt shot should be nerfed.

Yeah, I’ve seen this too.
I’ve also activated my camo during battle, full shields, and wasn’t cloaked at all!

And OP says he has seen to many Pred movies, and is LOOKING for the ripple effect and sees the blue dots, but not everyone is payin attention like that. Some people just look down the barrel of their guns, and then BAM, active camo assassination- enter the AC complaints.
