Why Chief will "win". No hate...

So I won’t say but some of us know now by fact that Chief and Locke get into some brawl. Probably not deadly but they do.

But I think its just more sensible for Chief to win in some way.

1: Chiefs more popular. Anywhere you go he’s going to have more likes. Yes Locke had a small following and one that may grow but Chiefs still Halos guy. Having him being beat by another Human would be off to fans

2: Locke is new. He doesn’t have as big of a following and some now may feel like he’s trying to harm Chief. Making him Hateable. If Locke wins it will most likely make him seem more annoying and bad. To make Locke likeable they can’t make him arrogant and OP

3: The best thing is a good fight that’s almost equal but where Chief does win. This way Locke seems strong and good but chief keeps his spot.

Overall Locke winning would just piss more people off and disgrace Halo. Chief being whooped by some forunner is fine or maybe another Spartan II. But overall I’m sure Chief will win this boxing match

Disgrace Halo? Give me a -Yoinking!- break. I think making Chief a perfect little snowflake that can’t have anything bad happen to him is more of a disgrace to the franchise. Chief has got his -Yoink- beat plenty of times and while he has come out on top, sometimes it was by the skin of his teeth. Do I think Locke would win in a traditional fight? Probably not, but even if he did it wouldn’t make him arrogant or OP.

Locke beating Chief would disgrace the franchise, are you kidding me…

I think they’re going to be injuring each other rather than an 1 sided fight.

Oh look another Locke hater… can we please stop with these threads now?

I don’t think I have much more to add to this.
I’ve been getting tired of the irrationality of such thinking to be honest.

Maybe it’s time to end Chief’s dynasty…

lockes growing on me

I said a fair fight where Chief still wins.

Not a one sided chief whoops -Yoink- fight

Plus Locke winning just seems tacky like “lol I beet duh cheef guys like me” which isn’t how you make a character seem good and likeable.

And also unless Locke uses some emp or crazy tech to give him an edge how do you expect him to beat Chief that? Armor? Chiefs using new armor too (he has thruster ground pound etc) on top of more years fighting and captain america tier body mods.

Now if you can tell me how Locke could win without looking like a -Yoink!- I’ll glady listen but again it seems more tacky and negative. Cause that’s how you people seem think

And I like Locke too. Seems coolish for now but I’d respect
A:Locke fighting good but losing. And then joining Chief for some bro downs

More than
B: Locke beating Chief and taking him back to ONI and/or joining but becoming more important

And Chiefs dynasty isn’t over. He’s crazy and maybe emotional but he’s still saving humanity

Please 343 just kill the Chief he is not even the best spartan alive he is just a lucky -Yoink-. Eventually his luck will run out and he will die as he should.

Yes by Covenant. 7 plus foot tall Elites and Brutes who could rip a human apart. Elites are naturally beasts who can one hand a human.

Locke is not a crazed 7 or 9 foot tall alien.

Go fight a chimpanzee and then fight a human. I’d bet you my life that lil monkey would smash your face in before that human could land a hit

But they are both Spartans and Both can defeat Elites in hand to hand combat so your point is kind of irrelevant.

Nothing to see here, please don’t feed the trolls.

You feed me though? Lol also I am not trolling however I wouldn’t care for a minute if Chief died there are many other Spartans etc who have a story to tell and I wouldn’t mind playing a different perspective hence I am glad for the introduction of Locke.

I would have no problem with Chief being outmatched…IF…the opponent was clearly superior. The Didact for instance was a more seasoned, more experience, and more powerful warrior. In Halo 4 I could understand the Chief being nearly powerless, for all his abilities and strength he still faced the supreme commander of the Forerunner military.

A recent example of this in the way of “how NOT to do it” is Kai Leng from Mass Effect 3. In all of the battles you have against him he gets soundly beaten and his face get stomped in, he was not deserving of victory and yet due to cutscene bs and “the plot demands it” he turns around and smacks your character up the side of the head and laughs his -Yoink- off while your character fumbles around like an idiot waving the weakest pistol in the game around.
It’s all about how you write the adversary and how effective they are.

In a contest of skill we have an untried and unproven newbie character going against the battle hardened veteran. I say newbie and veteran because this is the Chief’s fifth outing in a game where as this is the first time for Locke. It will all come down to how he’s written and how he handles himself. Will he be a -Yoink- character like Kai Leng or something of a worthy adversary like Saren Arterius?

You all are going to have to wait lol.

It’s probably a fight over getting to something or taking something.

Will chief win? Probably, but the Spartan 4’s aren’t chumps. They’re all very real Spartans. The armour does most of the work in both cases anyway, so it comes down to experience. But let’s face it. if its a full on brawl Osiris is in a serious disadvantage as they are a fresher team with younger soldiers over the best veterans in the service. 1v1 though it’s gonna be a close fight.

Wait… you say that Locke won’t win because he’s not a giant alien… then provide an example of a smaller animal beating a larger one? What was your goal with this… exactly?

And it’s not just about aliens. Insurrectionists have captured Chief and several Spartans. The only reason they got out was because Kurt followed a gut instinct and avoided the trap, rescuing everyone else.

If the community can’t accept a new character and fail to release some huge idolization of the Chief they have, then that’s the problem. Not Locke. The story and integrity of the story shouldn’t be compromised because some fans can’t stand a new character entering the scene, despite the vast majority of Halo’s potential and background does not follow Chief.

I’m open to whatever, but… ‘John always wins’ (Dr Halsey). So I agree, he should and likely will win ^

Couldn’t say it better my self. If the story and locke are written well I am fine with chief losing as long it makes sense because chief is a veteran and all he has ever done in his life is war since he was a child. I really hope 343 does not pull a Kai Leng, he was the worst.
