What made 343 think it was a good idea to change the classic, iconic Halo team slayer to Invasion Slayer/ Infinity Slayer in Halo 4? They’re basically the same thing they’re so similar, and Invasion Slayer wasn’t that popular in Reach. I mean it did ok, I don’t think it was an unpopular game type, but it wasn’t even as popular as other game types such as BTB or SWAT for examples.
It would have made more sense to change Halo’s core game from Team Slayer to something more like SWAT or BTB than something like Invasion Slayer… but there was no reason to change!

Invasion Slayer, not Invasion. Infinity Slayer is really close to being Invasion Slayer. The main difference is, instead of getting a power weapon drop for getting some kills in Infinity Slayer, in Invasion Slayer you held a spot on the map for a certain amount of time, then got a power weapon drop.
So Invasion Slayer was slightly better since your team did have to work together to control the map, but its still fairly similar. I just don’t get why 343 felt some obscure game type that wasn’t exceptionally popular needed to be slightly altered and replace regular Team Slayer in Halo 4. Its very strange.
I don’t even remember playing invasion slayer ever, i hated invasion.
If you look at my reach stats you’d see i’ve only played like 10 games of invasion…
But what i do know is that infinity slayer is a terrible gametype that caters to noobs. I don’t even play it anymore. I’d rather have 1 person camping the weapon spawn on the map rather than rewarding everyone with ordinance for not even playing good. You can get ordinance drops for getting assists only, i thought ordinance rewards you for doing good? 0 kills 10 assists and 20 deaths is anything BUT good.
This gametype is waaaaaay too noob friendly…
Infinity slayer is dominated by power weapons.
Vehicles suffer because of this and plasma pistols/grenades loadouts.
Until some sort of classic slayer variant playlist comes out you can find me in objective playlists where player ordinance doesn’t exist.

When I said Invasion I figured you’d connect the dots but I guess not. Invasion slayer and Infinity Slayer are nothing alike.

You have no idea what you are talking about. Invasion Slayer required players to take scoring zones in order to get better weapons. Infinity Slayer has no such zones. It’s just like Team Slayer. They renamed INfinity Slayer to go with the UNSC Infinity, in which we are all training on.
Do yourself a favor, know what you are talking about before you open your mouth. You just make youreslf look like a fool otherwise.
