For people outside your fireteam, the lobby only displays a horizontal strip of player emblems, you can’t see their names or armor sets, or see which players are talking.
I understand that for competitive reasons 343 doesn’t want you to know other players’ ranks before a match starts, but why hide everything else along with that?

Also the Stances you unlock don’t seem to have much value when randoms in a lobby can’t see your Spartan anyway
The whole armor customization thing has less value I suppose
In Reach and 4 I rarely paid attention to armors during a match, but in a lobby I’d always scroll through the list to see what everyone was wearing

Like my thing was I like to show off my armor so others know what to look for and what good combos were and now all I see are people getting mad I have an emblem they have the fact they have rarity values on the armor does nothing if you can’t see it
To answer your questions, because 343i are -Yoinking!- people lmao I mean come on man you put all this work into this REQ system with these new armor customizations and stances as someone recently said NO ONE CAN SEE IT, so that kinda null & voids half the stuff and takes a good chunk from the game competiveness & will to buy REQ packs, also lets say you surprisingly like the team you were paired with in slayer now thanks to 343i ftarts you cant stay with them and play another match they force kick you back to lobby…Nut -Yoink- game man.
I don’t even really understand why 343 don’t want you to see other people’s ranks because a) the CSR should be equal to you anyway and b) you can’t leave in that lobby without penalty.
I like to know where I stand before a game, doesn’t mean I’ll reset my Xbox if the team appears to be bad.
With how all over the place the CSR seems it doesn’t really matter if you can see that anyway, it means nothing. Just played and chatted with an Onyx in Swat who has no idea why the game thinks he is that good haha.
And I’d definitely like to see mine and other people’s armor/stances/record etc. Not that much to ask really.

I second that ^
I put a lot of value into armor and stances in games like Halo Reach and Halo 4, but now its just broken. It is disappointing, really.
it would be good to look at the stats or even just see the armour of the other players before the game so it gives you a better idea about who your playing with and going up against
I love armor and I’m mad I can’t see others options and design
That used to be my favorite pre match activity. I liked seeing what other people used for customization. Also, does this mean no fileshare come December since we can’t select other players?
343 really let us down in that area. Shame.
And they have number as ranks? What happened to like general and crap
