Why can't we pick up grenades by default?

I feel like the only reason why you can’t pick up grenades by default is that 343 can shove one more perk into your loadout’s option menu.

i can’t be the only one who thinks this is the case. Seriously, those little exploding fireworks are so weak that it becomes almost pointless to lob grenades at people, usually you are better off putting 2 extra shots into them within that time frame.

I agree with your first point. They have essentially taken away a standard halo ability so they could fill up their list of perks, essentially limiting a player’s basic abilities.

Your second point. I agree, grenades are weak. The only problem with making them more powerful is that the movement speed is so slow along with the short fuse time that they would often be impossible to avoid and it would become game breaking like reach. I would love slightly more powerful grenades however the base movement speed would have to be increased quite a lot for this to work well.

I don’t know about you, but people spawning with two stickies is already too much. Have you played King of the Hill, by chance? Sometime, run an Explosives-Resupply-Stickies loadout in it, it’s quite ridiculous.

2 dmr shots anywhere on your body + 1 frag = dead

In Reach you couldn’t spawn with two stickies unless you were in that God-forsaken Elite Slayer or Invasion. To be honest, at least frags take more than one to kill, they don’t ruin vehicle combat, they promote a more mobile playstyle.
