So the reason why we can’t have armor/weapon/vehicle/gametype updates or DLC is because every map has its own .map file which includes everyone possible on that map.
However Halo 4 is a two disc game, Disc 1 contains the campaign and thats the disk you always play on. Disc 2 is just where you download War Games and Spartan Ops from. Now if you have to download the .map files anyway why can’t these be updated at a later date to include new gametypes and such?
The files exist on the second disk, there is no large download, the .map files are on the disk… the files are “installed” (ie, transferred, or technically uploaded from the smaller medium to the larger).

And then are stored on your hard drive. Why can’t they be updated then?
Essentially, you’re saying why can they not just recreate it? So if you have Ragnarok.map, they make a Ragnarok2.map and then it downloads and replaces the previous file?
Because the update required to do this would be so freakin huge it’s not really worth it. Have you any idea how much space changing a games mechanics needs? if you’ve ever played BF3 and seen their updates then you’ll understand. You don’t need to pay for new armour anyway… why do you need new armour when the game isn’t even released yet?
btw I think the armour looks great, so I don’t understand why this is even an issue.

Yes. You have to store every .map file on your hard-drive anyway, why can’t said files be updated? Remove complex.map and replace it with complexupdate.map it will take up pretty much the same amount of space.
