I noticed three weeks ago that I could no longer chat in game chat only party chat. It could have been longer but I always stay in party chat with my friends except for game nights which is where I noticed the problem. I haven’t gotten a message or anything. I would like to know if I did something wrong.
Is it normal for 343 to just cut your game chat with no message or explanation?
This is extremely frustrating because I can’t participate in my team’s game nights anymore because the lobby is always 12+ so we can’t use party chat.
I would honestly understand if I was banned for doing something wrong and was informed but this -Yoink- is just lazy. What the hell did I do?
Because you’ve been a dirty boy.
Thanks for the response. But seriously has this happened to anyone else?
chances are the message that you were chat banned(temporary for about a week)and the message did pop up but you might have been mashing “A” right when it popped up.
Now for the reason. It could have been that you had background noise going off in the background that caused people to mute you(which it 343’s system is the same as getting reported for vulgar language against another player).A lot of people just have it set to when they enter a lobby then mute everyone right away which the system picks up as people not wanting to listen to you even if it wasnt the case.People could of also reported you for abusing game chat because you were playing in a way they didnt like. Not fair i know but 343 doesnt care so it wont get fixed.Since this has been a problem since launch.
So either stop playing Halo 4 or just bear with it.Since you will just get a nicer response but with equal meaning to what i suggested.
Good luck.
Sadly people get annoyed when they hear people chattering away in the lobby. If you’re loud, or even if you’re not, you could accidentally annoy someone and when you do they mute you.
If memory serves me, you’ve been mute-banned. Meaning you were muted so many times it banned you from voice chatting in-game. Basically from what I remember it just automatically mutes you, if the people in-game unmute you they should be able to hear you again.
Check your sound settings on the Halo menu. You may have accidentally turned off your voice chat. The same thing happened to me. I couldn’t talk in game but I could talk in party chats. I also didn’t receive any ban notifications. I check through my menus on halo and realized voice chat was set to off even though I have no memory of swithcing it.
