If you change your gamer name and you haven’t played the older games with that name would that not load your waypoint stats for those games?
Yes, you need to load up the older games on your new tag in order to resync things up again. If you still have access, you can play forge, campaign, multiplayer, anything really as long as you are connected to xbox live. Shouldn’t take long to sync up after that
