Why can't I hit with the Sniper....no seriously.

Yeah, yeah. Get good, haha.

For real though, I’ve been getting Rampages and Perfections and I can land shots with the Sniper just fine in MCC, yet every time I’ve gotten my hand on the Sniper my crosshair seems allergic to the enemy. I’ve been experimenting with different sensitivity options but I haven’t had any success.

Any ideas what might be going on?

While I won’t claim to be very good with a sniper overall either, I’m a hell of a lot better on H3 and Reach than I am in this.
Just feels a bit weird. Interestingly, I’m okay with the new Skewer gun.

I still feel awkwardness with the Skewer as well, but I have been landing more shots with it.

If there isn’t something that I can fix in my settings then I wonder if something about the Sniper handling that is throwing me off.

The no scoping definitely ain’t as easy, probably less aim assist than we are used to. Zoomed in it feels really nice.

Maybe it’s just a thing to practice with, hard when it’s barley on the map and I’ve been leaving it for other players to try out.

That would make sense, but I’m on PC with a mouse, so not relevant for me at least.

Can confim that there is next to no aim assist on some of these wepaons but if you’re on PC I got nuthin

For the flight I’m stuck on Xbox, so I can’t attest to PC. That being said, if there really is no aim assist for Sniper I feel like that should change for the final release. Players move too fast and Halo’s gameplay has always been more about moving smartly/efficiently rather than having pixel perfect accuracy.

Simply put for most snipers it relies on ambushing people and them not knowing you’re their, these bots know where you are as soon as you see them so they constantly apply pressure. In this regard I believe bots are too smart.

It seems to have very little bullet magnetism, which I like because I’m normally garbage at sniping, so I feel this iteration needs a lot of skill. Until I get MUCH better I see myself picking it up and bringing it to the best sniper on my fireteam.

Same. The H3 sniper feels incredibly smooth to me and I like to snipe a lot on COD so I’m not new to sniping. Here the sniper seems incredibly awkward to use. DK if it’ll just take time but it feels very clunky. As does the bulldog.

Im on controller but that dosent mean I have been abysal with sniper before in Halo games.
In general Im not attuned to sniper weapons and Halo Infinite, be it at Weapon Drill and in Bot match, Im lousy with it…
Nothing wrong with the Sniper Rifle, really. POSSIBLE a bit to slow reload? Or that the map we now play on, Live Fire isnt the best biome of the beast of a S7.

But the SOUND, the mighty, powerful sound of the guns, especially the sniper rifle.
Good lord and ladies! Its so nice to hear those thundering BOOOMS!
Nailed it 343, NAILED IT!

And yes much less bullet magnetism which is a GREAT thing which encourage getting good is also factors to count for.

I’ve had overall good luck with the sniper so far. I completed all the Academy training with the sniper and after that it felt second nature. However, I am also on a controller, so my experience might be different from yours. Awls I can say is spend more time in the Academy, and you should do fine
