Why can't I hear anyone?

In games I can see that teammates are talking (icons flashing etc) but can’t hear anything. I haven’t heard a single person while playing solo, which obviously isn’t good.

Is there something I’m missing here? some setting or the like?

I’m with you. I see threads about mics blah blah blah, but never hear anyone speaking. I have stopped using my headset…

I haven’t so it’s not that. No idea why this is like.
