It’s not about helping.
Not everything that’s fun is something that does something.
I could like putting jigsaw puzzles together, but it’s not like I really get much that’s helpful from it.
Again, there’s no customization…whatever of the various unlockables you choose to waste your time on, your in-game spartan will perform exactly the same as any other - including mine which has none of any of it unlocked.
That’s… It’s customization, just, only cosmetic.

no. they are just little cosmetics. literally “charms”, they just hang off the sides of your weapon; but currently you can only have 1 equipped.

People like things that seem pointless in real life, so it makes sense they might like them in video games as well.
I like to procure cosmetics in this game because wearing cool armor makes me feel better. Like those cat ears? I run those on my MK VII when I feel like looking like a wolfy Spartan, sprinting around with my Rockstar Gold and Black AR that’s got Dogtags on it. Why?
It feels cool to do. I like feeling cool. I like posing like a bad MF in the victory pose when I win. I am not so utilitarian that all I desire is the charcoal armor and green visor that comes with the armor.
My Reach suit is much more of a “Character” so to speak. I have a narrative about them, who they are, why their arm is missing, what the colors of her armor mean, because it enriches the gameplay experience for me to imagine my Spartan has a backstory.
It does not impact the gameplay at all in any utilitarian way.
But it makes me feel good.

There’s no reason to “look nice” in a game bro…none of whatever armor you happen to be using will prevent you from being killed by someone like me that uses whatever is default. “Look nice” all you want, it won’t have any affect upon the outcome of any game. A full team of default armor users has no disadvantage over a team of players that has wasted their time procuring any of the various armors.

But I just like to look cool. I’m good at the game anyway. I don’t really need a bought advantage lol.

Not being a jerk just being realistic bro. It’s actually night here so have a great night I guess…my advice to you is not to waste time or effort on any of the various armor and just concentrate on enjoying the game
There’s not much of a game to enjoy right now.
Why do you say that?
There’s no Firefight, no Warzone, no Forge, no custom games browser, custom games are broken, Big Team Battle is broken, the servers in other modes have problems, the game menus randomly break, other modes aren’t in the game, there are few maps, etc.
