Why can we only use one attachment for the helmets

Been living under a rock lately

Well I don’t know the code. Could be super easy or could be super hard? From what I heard that development was rather compartmentalized development which tends to cause some issues. So could cause issues trying to add something in. I mean they put prosthetics on a different UI menu and locked each type of prosthetics behind cores. The AI had a team and the past code of older blam engines to work with. Plus the AI team probably didn’t work on Armor UI. Wish the UI team took from Reach UI more for Armor.

Depends on the coding language and the engine but I don’t imagine it’d be too hard…

I’ve never seen them available for actual purchase, just unlocked in-game. Surely purchased items would have to actually do something otherwise nobody would waste money on them. Granted I didn’t play halo5, there may have been purchasable items there that had varying effects - I wouldn’t know. In all the halos up to and including 4, none of the armor is useful and can be ignored.

Being disingenuous again. You’ve asked in other Halo Infinite threads and been given the answer. You’ve also stated, in mulitple threads, what they do in Infinite.

I find it incredibly hard to believe that anyone would be foolish enough to spend money on things in a game that do nothing. There has to be a point to it. At least DLC map packs in the past have provided new gaming experiences - the armor has never done anything.

I’m not engaging in a discussion on that, simply pointing out asking a question to which you are well aware of the answer is disingenuous.

On a separate note - have you ever gone and clicked on the menu at the top right of screen here in the forums - the one with the three horizontal bars - and clicked FAQ? Really interesting page. Well worth a read.

Every single comment this person makes is insulting someone for enjoying cosmetics and comparing it to skill level. Dont feed the troll. Somehow he loves infinites gameplay so much he feels the need to ask the same 4 questions on every single thread about customization.

Every single thing in this game is a pixel, the armor, the guns, your gun shooting the enemy, you going 40 and 2 cuz ur the ultimate gaming pro… its all pixels in a video game… why are you insistent on trying to downplay other peoples interests and things they enjoy simply because you dont. Customization has been incredible in Halo since 3 and if you somehow know so much about gameplay and skill then you should know people spent MONTHS grinding for armors like the Katana and recon. Customization is important, get with the times or stick to your default armor and keep your negative takes to yourself.

There has never been any customization to the best of my knowledge. No matter what armor and effects you chose in previous titles(again, I didn’t play 5 so keep that in mind) none of them made your in-game character different than any other players’. I played a lot of Reach and my preferred weapon combo was DMR and sword(or shotgun if sword wasn’t available). In that game there was a wrist unlock that supposedly had extra shotgun shells but they were unable to be used. Same with sniper round arms and a health pack leg. I was very disappointed back when I unlocked these items only to find out you couldn’t actually access what they supposedly contained. I was hoping 343 actually made these types of items have a purpose but I guess that’s not the case, now instead of unlocking completely useless items players are expected to have to pay for them??

As long as the code is neat, I don’t think there should be any issue making another slot for attachments.

lmao what the hell are you even sayin

Did you play Reach? Everything I mentioned above were unlockable items yet there was no way to actually use what they allegedly contained in their item description.

Yeah, I would also like to wear helmet attachments with visor attachments. They should be separated. Similarly, armor effects need to be separated. I want to have flaming shoulders AND a flaming head, or only ONE flaming arm. Coming soon will be a neon mohawk and a purple hologram visor. I would like to wear BOTH of those, and have the upcoming Angel Fire arms, or maybe one Flame arm and one Angel Fire arm.

Come on 343. You said you wanted Infinite to let us build our dream Spartan, then went and made the system as limiting as possible. You even put the stupid chest attachments exactly over top of where our chest emblem is so we can’t even see it. What happened to arm emblems or putting stuff on the left side of the chest?

I think it’s ridiculous that customization is so limited, and I also wish the attachments looked better and could be colored.
In Halo 3, the attachments could make the chest look like a different armor.

The armor doesn’t matter at all, no need to worry about it. None of it will help nor hinder you as you play the game and being a first-person perspective type of game you can’t even see whatever of the “armor” you waste your time selecting

If the Mark VI core doesn’t have the Halo 3 and Halo 4 customization system, I seriously hope people riot. 343 better not dare make the Halo 3 and 4 core locked to the default Mark VI armor body with more Reach slap-ons, like Mark V, VII, and Yoroi, or they will have literally zero excuses for defense as to why you can’t mix cores and coatings. ZERO EXCUSES.

You can see it, and they made sure you could.
Theater, vehicles, certain weapons, lobbies, and match beginnings and endings all show your character.

Also, while it doesn’t necessarily help or hinder, it does matter.

I think they’re going to change how the armor cores work.

Don’t lie…you can’t see it during gameplay and even if you could it wouldn’t matter. The cutscenes will all play out the same regardless of whatever armor you happen to have selected. Unless there’s an Easter egg I’m unaware of…
