For example the two today that I’ve seen where discussing a skill gap and a certain employee who I’m not going to mention.
They were both locked.
However, this “rule” is not even in the official rules, and I’m kind of feeling like they were locked because they actually had good points and 343 felt threatened by it.
Is this why this new rule was made up and implemented on the spot?

I don’t think you’re allowed to call anyone out publicly.

Theres a lot more unlocked and untouched by an admin just search for individual devs/admins on the search bar. The threads are “calling out” many people for questions and answers. So why single out the most recent?
Because you know, we want to avoid starting a trend…
It’s because you directly stated that a single employee was responsible for something negative. You are not allowed to single out one person to lay the blame on. You must group the entire company together. It’s the same with users, you can’t make a thread to single out a user who you disagree or have a problem with.

I wasn’t laying blame on him for anything, I disagreed with what he said on the sparkcast that in no way should relate to the company as a whole because those were Frankie’s own words. If I disagree then that is a form of feedback, and many other people shared this same feedback and were discussing it. We weren’t laying any kind of blame on Frankie, merely disagreeing with what he said and that he doesn’t fully understand what he was talking about in terms of the CE pistol, skill gaps or general FPS skill sets. Sorry that we can’t discuss a sparkcast on Waypoint and disagree with the Franchise Director.
It isn’t the “calling out 343” employees that is getting it locked. It is just general don’t call out people on the forums. Maybe the ones that stayed unlocked went about it a different way instead of belittling.
I suppose becuase it is a forum, user names are used only and not names of said employers, perhaps i don’t to kepp their identity hidden?
I find when play Reach it is always my skill that helps win the game. E.g. Playing Team Slayer i always usually do well, it doesn’t matter if Blue team has high ranking players or good weapons. All i need is a dmr, assualt rifle or pistol and i’m fine. So what i am saying is , Skill is always the most important when playing Reach.
I’m not gonna lie. Although I disagree with what you put. Them putting that was pretty stupid. I don’t see why we can’t talk about employees seperatly from 343 as a whole since Frankie was the one who said it. It makes no sense.
343 don’t you be turning into no Col. Gaddafi!! ¬_¬ Dictatorshipness. Haha I joke.

Rules are rules, what people fail to recognize is that the site belongs to 343, It does not matter why you think is an unjust thing that you cannot discuss certain things about individuals, or why you think they contribute negatively, because ultimately your agreeing to follow the rules of the forums when signing up, therefore you should adhere to them and be happy that you get come here and read awesome stuff all the time.

It’s not a new rule, posts that point out a specific individual have been getting locked for months and months. Even ones that say this 343 employee or that one are the best thing ever.
I don’t think 343 are threatened, I have seen posts that have been very vocal and passionate about this or that stay open as long as forum members themselves weren’t getting attacked.

If you want to name someone for something positive, a CL made a thread called the ‘Waypoint Community Callouts’ in the General Discussion area.
I presume that’s the only area where that’s happening and it’s not being locked. Thread’s on page 5 or so now, bring it back : )
I can see why they shut ones about their employees, and it WOULD irritate me a lot as an abuse of power, but they do it MORE SO for regular users.
As long as it’s the same standard it should be fine, but I can understand that you might want to discuss something Frankie said, for example, and it could be frustrating to have that closed.
You’re not allowed to make topics concerning individuals specifically. You are allowed to call out people. It just has to best in a more broad and always in a positive way.
I do suggest that “343i/Frankie’s comments had me thinking” is a much better title than “Frankie, Y U Not yadda, yadda, yadda” as well. Then wording the thoughts as to be constructive rather than degrading will help to keep the topic open.

you cant call out an employee by name because you dont even know for sure that the blame/praise you are showering that person is actually the ‘sole’ person (or was even involved in that thing) responsible for that thing. There might have been many others involved in the issue you liked/disliked.

I did not see that rule being enforced prior to the sparkcast, and why are people saying that I am talking about what Frankie did as negative? All I am saying is that I don’t think he fully understands the skill-gap and why it is there and why we want it there. And I did adhere to the rules its just they snuck this one up right under my nose. Sure this is 343i’s site should that mean we can’t discuss why we disagree with the Franchise Director’s statements or knowledge of “skills” required for an FPS?
