- Halo CE- Added an entirely new perspective on FPS games where the player was a resilient super-soldier that fought aliens and parasitic lifeforms who eliminated both enemies and allies alike to create monstrous enemies worse than either of the latter.- Added hours of gameplay with friends or solo on multiple difficulties.- A sci-fi game as opposed to every other realistic game such as Call of Duty 2 or Battlefield (etc)- Added a simple way to customize your player for multiplayer to distinguish you from your friends.- Added a plethora of team-based and new game types unknown to FPS players prior to Halo.
-
Halo 2- Revolutionized and dazzled Halo fans with this dual wielding phenomenon that nobody expected and the ability to hijack enemy vehicles.- Added tons of new weapons as well as precision weapons other than the sniper rifle and added its counter part (beam rifle)- Added many new variants of enemies to make it look like someone was in charge.- Added several new enemies (prophets, drones, brutes, heretic enemies to fight the covenant)- Added the ability to play as the covenant faction (which completely surprised players because we literally just figured out that they were the enemy and now we could be that enemy instead!)- Added invisibility as an armor ability (practically the origin of Reach’s armor abilities aside from H3’s many useful things)- Added SMG’s in favor of the Assult Rifle because they wanted people to try it out and it wasn’t even the same weapon, as it had a faster fire rate, could be dual-wielded, and had a harsh handling to change how you used automatics)- Added new weapon skins (think Brute Plasma Rifle) and the ability to wield the elusive yellow sword from Halo CE.- Added a boss fight as a climactic event as opposed to the ‘escape’ from Halo CE.- Added skulls for more interesting gameplay and entirely new ways to look at the game.- Put you in space! (Not so large but it wasn’t in Halo CE)- Added turrets to fire from instead of just hand-held weapons.- Added lots of new vehicles!- Added the ability to get into many new vehicles.- Made the flood a more daunting and challenging enemy by letting them wield harsher weapons and get into vehicles (even hard ones like the scorpion)- Added new types of missions instead of just ‘look and shoot’ there were now small puzzles of sorts.- Added a new super-unit enemy and a new way to look at taking it down instead of just “blowing it up with a rocket” (The Scarab)- Added Xbox Live gamplay to the Halo Universe and was the reason Xbox Live was generally a huge thing (as well as most any form of online console multiplayer in general) in the first place!- Added the ability to make your character in multiplayer look different and gave you the option to have a customizable emblem.- Overhauled multiplayer to make it the other big thing of FPS instead of just a little thing on the side with new maps and gametypes.- Halo 3- Changed the way players thought about the campaign factions again by joining the two factions partially.- Overhauled the 3rd faction to make it even more of a threat and more present than previously though with new forms and more abilities. (Flood overhaul)- Overhauled the second faction with new enemy types and more vehicles which they now could hijack you from your own.- Added new vehicles and a UNSC air vehicle to wreak havoc from the skies on your enemies in campaign!- Added lots of new weapons and new functions to the weapons! As well as more counter-parts (Think shotgun and mauler)- Overhauled the multi-player once again with lots of new dynamic maps and many ways to utilize them as opposed to previous open maps now you had close quarters again and the beloved BtB maps. Also added several new gametypes.- Added the Forge gametype for people to make their own maps the way they thought it should be played! Completely revolutionized games in FPS as now you could have your own map and could make things for new games. (People even went as far as making mancala and other things similar!)- Added lots of new ways to customize the player including interchangeable armor instead of just one type you could have a helmet and a different type of chestplate.- (Small but I like this one) Added the mini-base elephant which made BtB a large thing because it was a mini fortress that players adored!- Added many new anti-vehicle and personnel weapons. (Missile pod and flamethrower)- In reference to the above, added detachable turrets (as well as turret version of the above for detaching.)- Added a theatre gamemode so players could go back and save their stuff to brag about!- Added a fileshare to save maps, gametypes, and clips on to let your friends enjoy with you!- Added a sort of ranking system for multiplayer to have something for players to aim for!- Halo 3: ODST- Completely changed the way Halo fans thought of Halo in many ways…- Instead of being the super soldier arbiter or spartan, you were now an ODST, just like the other ones you saw die all the time in Halo 2 and Halo 3.- The mood of the game was completely redone by all the new lighting and the new open-world feeling as well as the new sound track which was different but strikingly original.- Added a few new weapons to spice up the gameplay.- Made you get on your feet a lot more often instead of wrecking in a tank or warthog.- Added Firefight, a completely new way to experience Halo with your friends, not Campaign, but not Multiplayer either! Almost a combination of the two!- Halo Wars (Not Bungie-Created But Here As a Reference Since It Holds The Halo Title)- Entirely new playing field. RTS fans are welcomed into the series with the new RTS style gameplay with an amazing twist of Halo!- Completely interactive and in-depth campaign of its own.- Ability to experience the entire covenant and UNSC factions (obviously not at level but you get the point)- Many new ways to experience RTS gameplay with the boss units and super units!- Halo Reach- Overhauled everything! New gameplay mechanics, a new Forge overhaul with extremely large map! New connective campaign with a new type of spartan on a new planet!- You could now battle in space! The new campaign mission for a space battle was entirely revolutionary!- Entirely new vehicle works and new vehicles! (Rocket hogs, Falcons, Revenants, and more!)- Extreme weapon overhaul with many new types of weapons! (Plasma repeater, Grenade Launcher, Plasma Launcher, Needle Rifle, Designated Marksman Rifle, Beam Rifle, Concussion Rifle, Target Locater.)- Extreme forge overhaul complete with a gigantic map and a huge limit for it! Including all new forge mechanics not previously available and tons of new objects to forge!- Extreme multiplayer overhaul including the beloved Invasion gametype, a plethora of Infection gametypes, and much more gametypes!- Extreme firefight overhaul set with lots of new features that were customizable opposing the static H3ODST firefight.- Extreme gameplay overhaul complete with the all new armor abilities which finally let you sprint and jetpack as a spartan as well as things like an improved visor vision from the ODST type as opposed to a flashlight.- Made the enemies very distinct from one-another and made it seem realistic in the sense that they had lots of variants!- Overhauled customization of the player character in multiplayer including tons of elite types to choose from and hundreds of spartan tidbits for making each spartan unique!- Badass assassinations.- Overhauled the ranking system of Halo 3 to actually make you prestigious for playing long enough.Part 2 will explain how 343 ruined halo!
And part 3 will explain why post like this are becoming more and more boring… and why you should stop create 10 000 posts that are all the same to complain about something just for pleasure.
Just gonna say one thing (because half or more than the half or you point are not true, but to long to reply).
You say Halo 2 : "Revolutionized and dazzled Halo fans with this dual wielding phenomenon that nobody expected and the ability to hijack enemy vehicles."
Let’s suppose for a minute that Bungie NEVER added the dualWielding on an Halo game, and that now, 343i is proposing it in Halo 5.
I already see thousand of trash post like this complaining about “343i you ruin everything! take out the dualwielding pls Q.Q.Q.Q”.
Like the new AA or the “jetpack”. They try to add new stuff, but there’s always haters that just blame before even playing it.
So Bungie is better than 343 because Halo 2 was the first Halo on Xbox LIVE? How does that make sense? Wait … how does any of this make sense?
It’s basically “Bungie did it first!” … but it’s the same franchise, not a competition.
This is weird. Just go play Destiny. There’s a lot of “overhauling” and “revolutionizing” there for you.
