It doesn’t get you anything at all especially when you pull it out of their base or carry it for a long distance. I might be ranting but after carrying the flag for 1:03 minutes I end up in last place on my team and made the biggest effort to win the game.
This only makes me not want to play the objective and just kill the opponents which the majority of the times will give me a better position regardless if we win.
Edit: Regarding BTB.
Not only that, but the entire playlist as a whole is just a massive quit-fest. For the past 3-4 weeks I’d say 95% of the ctf games I go into have at least 2 quits on my team per game, usually even more though.
It’s easily and the most frustrating experience I’ve ever had playing any Halo in the entire series. I’ve been grinding out ctf wins to finish off the commendation and it’s completely destroyed my K/D. I only have 12 more to go and I will never play ctf in Halo 4 again as I long as I live.
Why in the world do you care about position on the post-game leaderboard? It doesn’t factor into your rank at all. Capture the Flag’s CSR is based on win/loss, not score. The reason to “bother to carry the flag” is to win.

Sorry, I should have said it is regarding BTB.
You get unlimited pistol ammo =D
The pistol is amazing, isn’t it?
> The pistol is amazing, isn’t it?
One of my favorite memories of Halo4 involved a pistol, a man cannon on Ragnorok and a head shot. And, it was always fun to kill people with the pistol in Legendary Slayer as well. Unfortunately, I use the Firepower perk so I hardly ever use a pistol unless I’m forced to spawn with one in certain game types.

If you’re playing BTB for competition/the win, you’re not going to get far. The majority of the players in BTB are either stat-padding or screwing around. It’s pretty much 16-player Action Sack with vehicles… except even Action Sack has more competitive players.
I’d probably recommend going into Action Sack and hoping for Lightning Flag.
> I’d probably recommend going into Action Sack and hoping for Lightning Flag.
I’ll second this. L flag is probably the most enjoyable gametype that 343 implemented. It’s too bad it’s so rare in action sack.
Anywho, I finished the CTF commendations. Thank God! No need to ever subject myself to the pure selfishness that is the CTF playlist again. Whew.
CSR failure at it’s best…
I’d love to see a ranked CTF game that adds multiplers on how faster a CTF game ends when full score was achieved.
When I opened this I thought it was going to say why bother carrying the flag when your team mate just kills you for the score one you get it to your base. It’s so annoying running a flag across the map without dying on ragnarok only to find your teammate waiting for you with a SAW and gunning you down

Anyone who does that to a teammate deliberately needs to be permanently banned from ever playing Halo. Period.
I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again:
75 points for grabbing the flag.
25 points for capping the flap.
Then again, points are irrelevant to me.

It happened to me and another teammate from the same guy. And neither of us given the option to boot.
I’m not sure why they don’t make it so you can’t betray someone that is carrying an objective, whether its a flag, ball, or standing in a hill.

Or maybe an increase in points the longer you carry? Points are irrelevant to me in CTF too, but it still erks me to see someone taking the credit for my hard work.
I just let my teammates handle the flag capping while I handle the head capping.
