Why avoid voice for Xboxlive guests ???

Hi guys !

I’m a big fan and I love 343 has done on this Halo 4 !
The only little point that boring me is why did 343 suppressed the ability to chat to guests ??? Can we expect that soon ???

I’m used to play with my wife (I know, I’m lucky !) but she can’t ear what others players are saying, this was the case in Reach… maybe the only good point on this game for me…

Thanks.

It’s strange, but it’s not just guests. I’ve tried to chat in LAN, and the only way it works is if you are using a profile that has an xbox LIVE membership. So offline accounts, or guests, don’t seem to be able to chat.

No idea why that was thought to be a good idea.

I agree. If my sons are on together and I want to talk to them they both need to sign in with their accounts. If one is a guest he can’t join party chat.

It’s so that those going off on racist/sexist/homophobic rants can actually be dealt with, instead of simply punishing the primary account.

Must be just a Halo thing… system linked Gears 3, been able to with other profiles, only problem is when I get booted from live, I get muted, but and still hear everyone.

Nothing to do with party chat, the game itself won’t let you speak or hear people if the profile is not a LIVE account. Party chat’s always been off-limits to guests, voice not working in-game is something new to h4.

That doesn’t make sense. You could always just mute that guest, and it never punished the primary account. If you muted the main account as well because it’s their damn fault for bringing an a.hole as a guest, that’s a whole different issue, but you never needed to punish the main account to be able to stop a guest from talking.

Only Halo 4. It works fine in every other game. This one, it shows you with a microphone, but you cannot hear anyone or speak, unless the account was a LIVE account, so XBL guests (and offline profiles on LAN) don’t work.

“It’s so that those going off on racist/sexist/homophobic rants can actually be dealt with, instead of simply punishing the primary account”.

Which would be fine, except that the Guest is sitting RIGHT NEXT TO THE ACCOUNT OWNER and punishing the owner is perfectly appropriate.

You mean Guests can’t use mics in this game? Doesn’t bother me none; Halo:Reach was the only Halo game to allow that, and I got really tired of having to pause the game to mute that annoying little brother of yours; he who apparently doesn’t undertsand the meaning of the words “will you shut the hell up!?!”

That’s not the reason.

If people’s guests are behaving in such a fashion I always file complaints on the main account holder. They’re responsible for their guests actions.

Just by a kinect… use that… then be hated by us all.

same happn to me today
