Why Ask for Gametypes and Maps??

Why the demand for gametypes and maps when what we should be asking for is a server browser list. Players can jump in and out of games where people hold different forge maps and custom games.

Seriously… File Share shouldn’t even be necessary, 'cause players get to test maps and stuff before considering saving them.

Best of all is that all the custom games even are on dedicated servers, in other words, no host-connection.

I’d more than likely would pay for keeping a server alive than buying other games. This would make the content and the experience in Halo 5 immortal.
EDIT: Yes, please add game variants in updates after a server browser is fixed. Just no need for more forge maps in updates since it’s already being made by community.
EDIT: To those of you who have played one game your entire life: Server Browser is a list of public custom games you can jump in and out of.

This community doesn’t know what it wants. It’ll continue to -Yoink- about every -Yoink- thing they do to this game.

Yeah, hope people actually understand the opportunities with a Server Browser. Couldn’t care less about other stuff. Though, of course… What should 343I spend time on for their monthly updates…

Guess the game would get immensely more popular with that feature and streamers might show off some very cool builds. Not unlike Minecraft…

I’ve seen the forge maps people make. If this was implemented it would be worse than MCC multiplayer.

Well… Sounds like you haven’t experienced alot of other games in your life… Server Browser is like a popularity list… The more players on a server/game the more likely that map is overall proper made/fun to play. Other people catch up on that map and make it into their server… That means… You find a game with good connection, a known map and a good player amount - democracy and fun. Actually also means that forgers get their credit they deserve…
New to games, perhaps?

Customs are hair thin without gametypes, and the best Forge ever will get stale quick without the bare minimum Custom Games we’ve had in the past. One can’t create Assault or Griffball or Infection in Halo 5’s customs, and no Customs Browser would fix that.

Exactly! So why aren’t people voting for this? That’s why Counter Strike got it’s enormous popularity!

Check the recruiting forums. These communities exist.

Oh, and unless you didn’t Get it… People dont usually play on -Yoink- servers… That’s how it works… You Browse a list of servers and choose the one you’d see most players on…

Because more content is needed, but yeah, I don’t understand why no one ever talks about a server browser. With Forge and custom games that concept would pair so well with Halo.

What?? Have you been on a computer game before other than the Xbox? You see a list of games in progress… You pick one you desire by map/players in game/gametype/latency and join it… Simple as that. A custom game Browser.

Thank you! I feel this community is Halo’s own doom!
Easily done. Make a custom game turn it from private/friends-only to “public” instead. Australian players get to play Australian players without oversea lag…

Your idea is redundant. There are plenty of communities that play custom games on forged/shipped maps. Some are large and some are small, some strict and others are laxed. Depends on what you prefer. Custom games and forge run on dedicated servers in this game, so the connection is fine.

Have you even considered that maps created by the community might be broken because a forger was confused by spawn placements?

You’re asking for something that is already a part of the game.

> 2533274847916490;14:
> You’re asking for something that is already a part of the game.

No, he’s not. You can’t find custom games without pulling out your computer and looking for a group. That’s not in the game.

Agreed, it is not physically in the game. My point is that while “Custom Game servers” would be nice it seems lesser on the list of features to add in Halo 5. Personally, I would love it, but I’d rather see 343 add Infection, Rocket Race, etc. before this idea. The idea that OP has presented is what gaming communities already do now, so why should 343 make something similar when their efforts could be focused elsewhere like dedicated servers outside of NA?

Please… Please… Joining communities?? Broken spawns? If a map is broken, no one play it, right? Not everyone lives in the US, and even there timezones will have an effect on community playdates. Last but not least. Atleast 80% of the Halo community have one or two friends who they play casually with.
Joining a community and participating certain hours a day is not achievable for people with families, Jobs or school…
Of course, not everyone loves ranked 24/7, but to have a matchmaker decide what you play for that 1 hour you can spend on Halo socially… That’s what a server Browser offer. I begin to believe you just misunderstood what a server Browser was and now don’t want to go back on it and admit you didn’t get it…

Sorry about that! This is something I burn for, right. So I just hope everyone understands the opportunities this would do for the Halo population!
And people do have a point, server browsers are in other games already, but not is it seen often in popular console shooters, and definetly not on dedicated servers!
Its very popular on PC cause people have more tools to develop mods and maps for games. Halo has Forge and that will be more than enough for a console shooter. Together with more gametypes. Which I believe we alreafy get from 343I in the future.
