Thruster Pack looks to be Evade 2.0.
And Evade was loved/hated by the community to the point where it was removed from all but the fringe gametypes.
I love Evade. It was awesome, still is awesome. And Thrust Pack is basically a nerfed Evade.
Because it doesn’t look nearly as powerful. Evade took you 1.5x as far and allowed you to do it twice in a row, tripling and trumping Thruster Pack’s range.

Love evade and the Thrust pack seems to be a good successor to it
The thruster pack allows you to cover a fair distance quicker than evade. Though you will not be in control of anything but the chosen direction, it’s only covering so much area.
Because everybody will be using promethean vision anyways. /shrug

Well we will see when we get it we shouldn’t be bagging on something we haven’t used yet.

I also don’t see why the lack of info is stopping people. It hasn’t stopped them so far with pretty much every other topic.
Because it can’t save you from a headshot anymore.

That’s also incorrect. If you evade twice, you haven’t covered 4.5x the distance one thrust covers.
Let’s say thrust is 10 and evade is 15 (which is 1.5x). If you evade twice, you’ve covered 30, which is… indeed, three times thrust.

because you don’t go into an animation that makes you a ridiculously small target and as far as we know it cant be used twice in a row, or to launch off objects for miles.

1.5x2=3.0, not 4.5.
2.25x2=4.5

1.52==3.0
He was correct, the thruster pack moves 1/3 the range.
It’s pretty obvious that thrusters are going to be abused. I can already see people using it and sprint to double melee people and then escape.
I hate the “New” evade, It should be a -Jump- Pack
Quit your crying, you’ll be hugging that new evade/thruster perk the minute you start getting head shotted by those ramped up promethean crawlers. Three types of those were announced and one’s a sniper, which sounds a lot like those damn jackal snipers in Halo 2 and “team annoying” on Waterfront in Reach’s firefight.
Didn’t they say you can only use this burst once every charge. Also, because of what Justin said.
