I haven’t played these game types as one i got Halo Reach in about 2014 and i had no gold,i could only play on free multiplayer weekends.I sometimes went to Mlg or super slayer but no one was available (same with arena). All i want to know is why don’t people play these no more and what can we do to make the most out of these gametypes?
I know infection, slayer, swat, snipers and invasion are popular but why can’t the other gametypes be.I also recommend checking out 'does no one want to revive this game? post (not by me) because these people are the types of people who want to play and enjoy the classic Halo’s or the best while they can.

i think it mostly is because of the Title Update, better known as TU, 343 pushed TU and from my point of view, TU killed alot as reach, then 343 stop supporting Reach and focus their attention on Halo 4, so the people who liked TU faster game play went to 343’s halo, and the people in Reach didn’t like 343’s idea of halo and stayed in bungie’s last Halo, but they won’t play TU from my experience.
but keep in mind as a disclaimer,
I do not like; 343, TU, Halo 4, Halo 5, or Microsoft, it would too long to explain why.
Super Slayer equips everyone with overpowered 3-shot kill magnums which actually fire twice as fast as the already OP Halo 1 Pistol, whereas other weapons like the Assault Rifle have not been buffed in the slightest to compensate.
MLG has always had a very niche audience, and was one of the least-played playlists in Halo 3 as well as Halo: Reach. The fact of the matter is the most of Halo’s fanbase are casuals, and this is why Social playlists have always been more popular than Ranked, and why as many as 11,000 people are online at once in Halo: Reach each day despite the game being nearly 7 years old… whereas I would be surprised if Halo 5: Guardians is getting half as many players in Arena, considering the multiplayer in Halo 5- even in Social- is hyper-competitive BS that turns away most of the casual players who have kept the franchise alive.
