Unfortunately, I’m going to have to go with the boring answer: because it’s fun. In fact, it’s so fun, that it makes me bare the progression system (for now).
I really have hope for this game, the game is great so far but these microtransaction and progression decisions are really holding it back. But seeing as they’re making small steps to make it better such as having a quick updating letting us earn 50 XP per match, while it not being the best at least they’re trying.
I play to try to get better. And maybe try some achievements. My best MP games I had in Halo 4, Halo 5 only sometimes. And something about this is super frustrating but I am hooked to get better at the MP and being actually able to help my team to win. But I like challenges, so take that as you will.
This game will be good, I assure you. Yes, people are displeased with the battle pass situation, but there’s still a lot of room for growth for the game. I for one and am enjoying myself playing the game and can’t wait for the campaign and its future expansions.
Honestly, I’m only playing because my buddy loves it. He was a hardcore Halo 2 and 3 player and just loves playing Halo. Personally, I think the game is one of the worst FPS’ I’ve ever played but it’s something for us to do together for a while. Once the novelty wears off for him we’ll go play something else.
We’ll likely play the campaign in co-op if these idiots ever gets it released. I still can’t believe they’re launching the campaign without co-op. That goes to show that they have no idea what they’re doing.
I still play even after my weeklies because I like messing around in online. my team probably doesnt like me much most of the time, but just doing stupid things with the grapple and stuff is what I live for. and sometimes I get that sweet top of the leaderboard anyway so werf.
I also play custom games a lot as of late. put together an abomination of a gamemode to mess around in. and ive managed to actually get a few custom games working with friends so that was a good time.
I hate ranked in every game its ever been in, and refuse to play it unless a weekly requires it and I cant spare a skip, so that definitely wont be in my top most played.
in general Im just messing around. infinite has issues but it is a -Yoink!- masterpiece compared to any other AAAs ive played in the last few months. but I still go back to some other games when halo loses its charm for the day.
I love Halo.
(I think that’s sufficient)
Im just having a blast honestly. I do wish we had some more options, but still. I’m just having a blast
for me I have no reason to keep playing, not with the current progression system and armour customisation system, but Forge can bring me back in, since I enjoy the community modes and possibilities that stem from such a system.
This is the first free halo though. Also I’ve played all the other halo games a bunch and with my circle of people I play online with, they are all jumping into this new halo. I’d rather play with them than by myself.
Additionally I think halo infinite, despite some issues with content and playlists, is the most enjoyable iteration of halo yet.
The game is fun, I’ve gotten use to the aiming mechanics and I’ve been dropping 20-30 kills a game all evening. My biggest complaint is also the painfully slow progression.
I mean you could, but most don’t. People get bored or just don’t like things, if people aren’t getting bored of this and do like it then that’s an answer in itself.
Fact of the matter is I do just find this game fun. The progression is definitely a ballache and I am definitely finding it off-putting, as I’ve mentioned many times on this forum the past few days.
The rest of the game though? I love it. It feels very “Halo” and also very modern, something I personally feel that Halo 5 failed to accomplish. I’ve enjoyed all of the maps I’ve played, I enjoy the gunplay, I enjoy the mechanics, I enjoy the vehicles, I’ve had tons of great games where I’ve got to kick -Yoink!- and I’ve had tons of fun little moments where I do something awesome or something whacky and unlikely happens like repulsing a rocket into someone’s face or skewering a banshee and having a piece of the wreckage fly past me and splatter my little brother. Those kinds of moments are what I’ve always loved about Halo.
So yeah I’m just having a lot of fun and I’ve found that most of my personal gripes with Halo 5 are gone. I also had huge, consistence technical issues with Halo 5 which hasn’t been the case here and most importantly they changed the art-style up. The overly saturated Megablox style graphics in Halo 5 gave me a literal migraine, I physically couldn’t play the game for more than 45 minutes or so at a time, so I was really worried about that.
It’s fun.
I was one of the people against the change to f2p back on the old Waypoint forums and I still am, so I never bought the battlepass, I just pick up the game for maybe like 3 or 4 quickplay matches every night and then move on to Forza or another game I have downloaded from Gamepass.
I have been playing Infinite when I get the chance. I really like Halo. I love the sounds, the way the guns work, the modes, the story/locations, the look of it, the armors, I just love Halo over all. And that goes for all Halo games, and Infinite is just as good maybe even better in my opinion.
Waiting for BTB with BR starts and a slayer only playlist for 4v4
Because I have loved Halo since 2001 and I refuse to let something I cherish die when it looks so close to being back to normal again.
I will continue to -Yoink!- and moan and bring up real issues and voice my opinions to 343i about what is going on with these games, especially now that Infinite is finally here. I think Infinite has potential to be fantastic. It’s not there yet, but it can be. If they somehow ruin this game which is supposed to have a 10 year lifespan, I might have to call it quits as this is third time’s the charm for me.
Please let it be the charm.
Because it’s fresh and exciting. The gameplay is really tight, and the maps are mostly really good. I’m holding out hope that the major problems will be fixed soon-ish.
Because you ping pong between serious and slapstick action pretty much every match. For me it’s possibly the 2nd coming of Halo 3 shenanigans.
Halo is what I play. There are no other games for me. I’m still playing 5 along with Infinite and find the new one not as fun. But I have a long learning curves on games. It will take me several years to get to where I fully enjoy playing Infinite. For now I’ll keep playing both until I get my 152 and then drop 5. For Infinite all I will do is play games and see what happens. I don’t bother with all the side distractions like armor and gun details and other gamer minutiae. Not my thing. I play, I run straight at the enemey and I die a lot. It’s what I do. Comfort zone. Oh and no jumping. Hate that dumb stuff.
