Why are you playing arena in party chat?

Do not flame/attack others.

  1. You’re playing in a party, thus making it more likely you are playing a team.
  2. Your teammate(s) can’t hear anything you are saying. You can’t hear anything they are saying.
  3. You are giving your teammates a huge disadvantage. They have no idea whenever you are pushing a certain direction. Meanwhile, they’re not involved in a single 1v1 battle.
  4. You’re probably complaining about their performance.
  5. You are not very smart.
Quit being a -Yoink-. Get out of party chat.

Quit being full of yourself and get over it.

OP I 100% agree. Everyone thinks party chat is cool. I think it’s awesome when you have everyone in the party, but if you notice, winning a game when some teammates can’t communicate AT ALL is nearly impossible. Then they complain about the game being to competitive. They really are not trying at all.

Who the hell cares??? Why don’t you just get yourself a team that talk and be done with it? easy

I’ve noticed that in the lower divisions everyone uses party chat. In higher divisions it’s more common to have a full team in game chat. This makes sense because the bad players generally have little motivation to get better while higher ranked players grab at any advantage they can get.

Last time I checked, I only use Party Chat in Arena when I’m playing Halo 5 with friends.

I usually only talk in a party with my actual friends since everyone else is usually talking to people in the background, having the game audio echo into the headset, playing music in the background, noisily toking on bongs, squeaking, smack talking, or in general just being unpleasant, but I will be using my head set while muted since I’ll be a raving cursing lunatic about every little agitation that occurs.

Cuz my friends are playing bo3 and everythings ranked except grifball and btb so I dont have a choice

it’s entirely my choice when I’m in the mood to communicate with randoms and when not. I certainly won’t get out of a party with my friends just to make sweaty callouts

I hate entering a lobby and hearing:
-Players losing their -yoink-
-Excesive Swearing, to the point where it’s annoying, not b/c I care about swearing
-Squeakers
-Background Noises

No thank you. would much rather sit back, relax, and listen to the sound of my BR perforating the bodies of my enemies…
if I want to talk to anyone, I’ll party with my friends…

Beacause i dont want to talk? The -Yoink- xD theres no need at all if you want to play mit callouts go for a team

That looks SO much better…sincerely, thank you. (I am honestly being sincere, NOT sarcastic)

Just play with your friends, if people don’t want to talk with you that’s their choice, not yours…

Ah this old chestnut again. I play solo all the time. I used to get emotional about the lack of communication, I’ve given up caring, I can’t influence the community enough to change so I just don’t communicate. It’s sad that the community has sent me this way but it’s better than getting frustrated at my team mates. I tried to be the change I wanted to see, it didn’t work.

I agree with you OP.

343 should disable party chat for ranked playlists.

Even if that doesn’t force people to talk, they can at least here me when I make call outs.

You have an option to mute annoying people, problem solved.

OP - completely agree. Way too many people don’t even use their mics these days, and joining a game in party chat basically isolates them from you. Personally I think the game should force chat settings so that everyone can hear, and just give you the option to mute individual players if they’re annoying.

I COMPLETELY agree with OP.

This is my biggest problem with arena. The amount of situations ive seen where an objective could have been achieved/saved if a team member had been using or at least listening to game chat is obscene.

I have been regularly asking for some information regarding getting the game chat working so you don’t lose contact with your fireteam whilst navigating lobbies etc as I feel that may help people stay in game chat rather than exclusively using parties.
unfortunately though, it doesn’t seem an issue for others :frowning:
i even had a response from a mod’ stating party chat should be my solution!
Bravo doesn’t deem it important enough to even respond to on Twitter. Unfortunately it seems you either have to be a “pro” or praising 343, to get a response from the community manager. Sad times indeed.
