Why are you breaking my map 343???

I don’t know how to explain this easily but here is the short: I have made a round based objective game where only the attacking team can score. When I play and load it alone it works fine. When my friends load it and play it alone it works fine. The item count is below 900, scripts below 120, fx below 30, lighting 50. I have read all about the infection map bug on even numbered rounds. And I have followed all suggestions in regards. This is simply and only an issue with 343 and their server. So why?

Assuming I’m understanding you correctly, the glitch you’re talking about is where after the first round ends nobody spawns during the second round and everyone is stuck being unable to spawn right?

From what I have heard 343i is aware of the glitch and has attempted to fix it, ultimately they were unable to determine what was causing it and here it remains. Even if you did some how discover the cause of the glitch Halo 5 has entirely stopped receiving support hence customs browser freezing all the time still being an issue. I do not believe that this particular issue is related to map limits at least entirely, I think it has something to do with the infection mode itself. Odds are pushing map constraints into yellow and red can exacerbate the issue or make it your problem, but that doesn’t seem to be the case here. Has your map ever been beyond yellow on any of the budgets?

If you end up going on a wild goose chase seeking that script prefab “fix” someone made to stop this glitch from happening I will let you know now that it does not work. I have played with it quite a bit among other solutions and nothing worked. The problem lies with the game itself, nothing can be done. As much as it sucks I can only recommend you not waste time making infection maps as they run the risk of tripping off whatever this bug is and once that bug is on your map nothing can be done about it.

While I’ve said in the past that 343i doesn’t know how to bug fix, assuming what I heard was true they did at least try to fix this one.

So I have trimmed the map to the point where everyone does spawn in the 2nd and 4 th rounds, the issue is the bug has morphed in a sense to this: red team is literally spawning in blue spawns and vice versa. I had set the objective markers for each team, color coded red for red and blue for blue. On the 2nd and 4th rounds each team is literally spawning right out of the other team’s spawn point (even tho they are team labeled) and when they spawn they see the other teams objective markers. I have tried neutralizing the objective markers and setting up teleporters to catch the intitial spawns that get messed up, but everytime the game loads the even rounds, any safety net I have put in to try and anticipate the glitch, never appear, or never work lile they should. It is clearly a server issue as this issue never occurs when someone solo loads the game.

Furthermore it is not just an issue with the infection game mode, it is literally any game mode that has multiple rounds. It occurs during breakout, slayer, ctf and stongholds. The game mode I made for the map is a 1 stonghold variant with 5 rounds. And the rounds is what seems to be the determining factor in whether it works or not.

I have heard that what the glitch does is make it so small objects such as spawn points do not spawn at all on even number rounds. Although the spawn flipping is news to me, granted I almost exclusively use neutral spawns for everything now which is probably why I’ve never noticed.

What is the base map that you’ve built on?
I’ve found that certain maps tend to hit unmarked limits and cause issues in the long run. For context Barrens with the Sunset skybox has never failed to cause glitches whenever I make something on it. Skybox may not have anything to do with it but it wouldn’t surprise me if it was part of the reason as it’s lighting heavy right off the bat to the point shadows do not form correctly.

I know of the issue you are talking about on Barrens, my map W.I.N. is on Barrens and I had to delete a lot of primitive welded objects to get the shadows to stop glitching, each lighting on that map has its own shadow issues, especially with welded objects and primitive objects. As for the spawn point in the map I am talking about, I normally use neutral spawn points with spawn volumes, tried that in this map and it didnt work, so then made a spawn box for each team, with labels on the spawns and teleporter to bring them to their appropriate sides. It works if one person plays the map alone, but as soon as there are two or more breaks the spawns on the 2nd round and makes red spawn in blue and vice versa.

Yikes, that’s surprising. Alpine is pretty lightweight in all regards, at least as far as I can tell. What’s even more bizarre is that you haven’t had the budget breach yellow or red let alone temporarily bypassed those limits if I recall correctly. With everything in the green without the any prior limit breaches you really shouldn’t be having these kinds of issues.

You mentioned using spawn zones prior, while I have not utilized them, perhaps you set them up incorrectly?

What’s the name of the map and game mode that this is occurring on? If you don’t mind I’d like a chance to take a peek at what’s going on there. Odds are I won’t be able to fix anything, but I may be able to identify a cause.

You are more than welcome to take a peak at it. I have teo versions of the map now, the trimmed down that is set for the round based which was my initial hope, they newer version has been added to to make it more interesting and interactive for 1 round. On the newer map the defending cant score, they “win” by a tie, and teams have to be switched in tje custom lobby. The map name is:

As for the spawn volumes, I set them correctly, I spent a total of 20+hrs trying to fix the issue with them, no joke lol
