Why are we still not getting a full file broswer?

He’s upset because 343i has been continuously removing features from their entries in the series since they took it over.

Halo 3 had a very functional file browser. Reach’s browser was extremely robust. Halo 4’s didn’t work at launch but eventually “kind of” worked.

MCC had no file browser. Halo 5 is getting a basic browser.

People don’t expect fewer features in newer entries in a franchise.

Sounds like a personal issue…

Wrong. This isn’t s full halo reach style fledged file browser.

cause instead of launching a feature with potential problems they are releasing a functional one, then testing it, than add things, than test, and so on, nothing wrong with that

I’m done, seriously 343i just what are you doing these days. Can’t even have a proper file browser, apparently too difficult for 343i to implement. Incompetent devs.

I think you are all missing the point that OP is getting at. Forge mode, File share, proper lobby systems… these things have been standard features for long enough to be expected in all future games AT LAUNCH. Dont get rid of file share so we can have “the evolution of halo.” Eat your vegetables, then you can have the cookie 343. Forge mode first, warzone REQ BS later.

Get it? Got it? Good.

WRONG! They released a buggy server system as a single point but they released an unfinished AND untested game, so essentially this is Destiny 2. If this was an improved Beta than maybe itd be ok, but they screwed up that lobby system and connection so bad with some places it means exactly what i said.

This. OP is right.

Big mistakes here. Everything riding on the December update, and boom!!!

Ok, peace out bud

Compare halo 2 and halo 3

Both from different generations (original Xbox- Xbox 360) and 3 years apart.

Halo 3 not only improved existing features, but added a lot more. Had an epic campaign.

What has halo 5 done?

Oh right…it has even less content at launch than the previous title, and it was 3 years apart, and a new console generation. Not to mention it looks very similar to Halo 4.

They have no excuse having the funding of one of the largest companies on Earth.

And don’t use the campaign as an excuse,it was weak and short, not tying up anything from halo 4, and not even touching the epic story that was Hunthetruth. If the campaign was good, then I’d cut them some slack.

Because 343 acts like anything Bungie did right is cancer and they avoid it at all costs apparently.

Listening to the armchair game developers here on these forums makes me smile.

Yeah file share is a cool feature but its not like they can just copy and paste it from the old games into this one. Its something that takes a lot of time to develop, test, implement, and maintain. With the ever increasing complexity of games these days some features do have to be cut sometimes if the games development cycle is to be kept to realistic time tables.

Well 3 years is a short time to make a game, especially when transferring to a new console. Ask yourself an honest question. Would you rather wait till February for the game to be released at all with everything you want in it, or get a functional game in October, and get more pieces as you go. I choose the former, as Halo 5 is very playable, even without a file share, which I haven’t used since Halo 3. Also the community is going to be much stronger with this release, and the majority of players, albeit many of whom are younger, will not even realize what was missing at launch, because they will get this game for Christmas. This is the best case scenario for fans, the majority of players won’t realize the issues we experienced, while the fans who want it as soon as possible (i.e. us, as in the people who bought the game at launch or within the first few weeks) get it two months before Christmas. Also I don’t know what “features” you are referring to, as the discussion is only about one feature: file share.

I’d just like it on record that I called this situation months ago. “At least it’s not the MCC!”

I suspect some, not all of could be copyright issues? Like certain aesthetic things or whatnot but it’s a little odd for file share. Maybe it’s just good old fashioned incompetence.

Being fair, the 360 used PowerPC while the xbone uses x86-64. Not that it would be particularly difficult to code a new one, especially since x86 is far more popular anyway.

xbox has upload for screenshots and clips.
