Why are vehicles still useless!?

I was hoping vehicles in Halo 4 to at least withstand some damage to it can actually be USED!
In Halo Reach, vehicles would get easily destroyed with just the typical starter DMR weapon across the map. The ghost? destroyed by 3 people spraying at you. The Falcon? my favorite air vehicle and it sucks so bad. It has cardboard armor! What makes it more useless is almost every map there are so many Spartan lasers and Rocket launcher scattered around the map. Wraith and Scorpion? They can withstand some damage but after constant DMR spray, your HP and shields will be down fairly quickly.I spend more time on foot in Big Team Battles than freaking being in a vehicle because i know i won’t last a minute.

I was hoping that in Halo 4 vehicles will be at least effective and you can use them for at least 3-5 mins before getting gang raped by five players. This is still not the case! Ghosts? Exterminated by DMR/BR in a few seconds! Shorter time than in Halo Reach. Warthogs? I have noticed they are more durable, but the gunner now gets raped much faster. But still, warthogs still get caught on fire after a few seconds of getting DMR/BR sprayed. Falcon is out of the game. Banshees get destroyed after 10 seconds of berly flying. See a flying thing in the air? BR/DMR spray it and already caught on fire after 5 seconds.

So my question is, what’s the point of putting in vehicles when they will get destroyed within 5 secs to 1 minute with EFFING STARTER WEAPONS? It’s so frustrating to me.

What do you guys think?

If they buffed the vehicles then it would just give people a reason to complain that they’re overpowered. The Mantis and the Scorpion are still pretty durable though…I think.

I find it funny that there is another thread all about how the vehicles are way overpowered in H4. Everyone in that thread pretty much agreed that the vehicles are really quite balanced, and I agree too. If you know what you’re doing, you can be very effective in a vehicle. If you know what you are doing, you can be very effective in taking down a vehicle. Its like super intense rock-paper-scissors. Everything has an up and a down.

halo ce is the only game that got vehicles right, their isn’t much of a point getting in vehicles now. so many dmr and br, no point vehicles arn’t tough enough.

lol at montash, what is br/dmr in a rock/paper/scissors game. you start out with a gun that is very efficient at destroying vehicles. and that their destroys the worth of vehicles.

Agree, they’re fine and work well as it is. If you make mistakes, you’ll be punished (both when using, or attempting to destroy a vehicle - it goes both ways).

As for this:

> halo ce is the only game that got vehicles right, their isn’t much of a point getting in vehicles now. so many dmr and br, no point vehicles arn’t tough enough.

I’m sorry, but no. Halo CE vehicles were indestructible, instead dealing the damage direct to the driver/passengers. That was bizarre. Also, the Halo CE scorpion tank had a CAGE for it’s driver canopy in multiplayer…instant snipe from miles away. Also, the Ghost only went about 5 miles per hour. So no, CE vehicles were not done right.

Halo 4’s vehicles are just fine. They will dominate if the enemy team is uncoordinated and doesn’t prioritize high-value targets, and that’s how it should be.

But if you get a mantis with a team that can escort and support it,Lord have mercy. Just wait until some people unlock the operator spec and get the shield boost, oh man…

I found vehicles to be really quite useless and weak in Legendary solo campaign, but they can be okay in multiplayer if you’re careful and coordinated with them.

I think you should communicated with your team more, get weapon contraol, and not move the powerful vehicles up until most of the power weapons are in your control.

You really cant expect to charge a team of players with a vehicle and come out on top. You have to pick your battles carefully. Pick off 1 or 2 guys at a time. The vehicles in game take more damage than the ones in reality. Do you know how many rounds it takes to stop and actual vehicle or aircraft? very few. You can stop a car with one .50 cal sniper round.

Many times, I’ve lasted most of the game in the mantis. Just keep your enemies in front of you, don’t blindly charge, and don’t underestimate your enemy. The basic rules of any combat engagement.

And stop crying, I don’t wanna have to call the WHAAAAAAMBULANCE
